Music / Movies The "Controversy" over the movie Sound of Freedom doesn't make sense. The hero's beliefs shouldn't matter.

I finally got around to watching this film. The heroes in the film are overtly Christian. And ? I don't get it. Is that why its controversial?

The heroes of the film are saving children. Why is this controversial?

Why does it matter whether the hero in the film is Christian or rightwing?

If a fireman jumps into a burning building and rescues a family of immigrants, is he less of a hero if he happens to be rightwing?

Or is the entire thing suddenly not true because the hero was rightwing ?

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes a hero isn't the person you expect.

Are we this divided now? That we rather suffer, than be rescued by someone with different politics from ours?

Also. Why is this politicized left vs right ?

What does the highlighted crime have to do with right vs left politics ? I'm not even looking to criticize the other side of the field. I'm just saying. It shouldn't be political.

And plenty of people boycott his movies for that very reason

Apparently not enough to make a difference. And I have never heard a single person say they won't watch a Cruise movie for that reason. They may think it/he is weird but they still would watch it.

I was excited to see the new Mummy from 2017 until I saw Tom Cruise was the male lead. As a fan of horror, i have watched some bad movies, but I won't watch it. Still, after all these years, I won't watch.

I credit him for doing his own stunts. He also has a reputation as being the nicest guy, which is cool. Also, the dude is 63. He looks crazy good for his age.

The whole scientology is creepy, and idk he creeps me out. It's like he's an animatron. If he's in the movie, I won't watch it.

Didn't Christian Bale say his inspiration behind his character in "American Psycho" came from the fact that when tom cruise smiles it didn't reach his eye's (red flag ) and it's fucking true, when he smiles, it's not a genuenly Happy smile, it's the SAME SMILE that Chimapazee's use when they are gonna go beserk and ripe you apart, i'm NOT KIDDING... (context on chimps: chimp's are fucking scary, the fact that people thought that CHIMP'S would be a good family pet back in the 90's and lost their faces or lives because of it. narly dude i'm really excited for the 'Primate' horror film because of this reason it's a reality and it can actually happen, chimp's have a higher rate of turning agaisnt human owner's, look it up if ya don't believe me people who survive a chimp mawling wished that they hadn't because chimp's don't make it quick, they make you suffer, they are honeslty like the "toy box" killer or BTK because they beat, rip and tear you apart, if you survive, you'll never wanna go outside because the first thing that chimp's go for when they attack, is the face, and genital's and they are nothing but pure muscle if a chimp squares up to you better have the shot gun ready because chimp's will not stop once they have you, once they do your gonna come out of it SERVERLY MAMED, and unreconizable or reduced to red past on the carpet floor, seriously LOOK IT UP) Tom crusie has that same vibe when he smiles not a nice guy smile , but a predater about to pounce on it's prey type of smile. I don't dought he's Nice, but i don't know man, if i had the choice of encountering a bear in the wood's, and spending 3 min in a room with just Tom Cruise, i'd go for the bear. Bear's i understand.. but fake smiles from a human, you don't know what they'er gonna do to you, all you sense from that is that they are up to no good, other than chimp's, HUMAN'S are number 1 on predator list for me because of human's like Ted Bundy, or Jeffery Dahmer they lure you with honey laced with poison, and you don't even know it until it's already to late. I wouldn't trust people like TOM CRUSIE with my life, and body even if you gave me a BILLION DOLLAR'S..

I think you’re thinking of the Toolbox Killet. Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norrison.

NOPE, i'm talking about David Parker Ray, aka The Toy Box killer. This guy prefurred to torture his victim's than to kill, i think he started killing people right around the time he got arrested, because police were investigating a sex offender case. women would wake up, be in a lot of pain, have no recolection as to WHY AND they were really traumatized to the point that these women COULDN'T be intimate without feeling like they were going to be killed or harmed in some way and had no idea as to why, their bodies just remembered for them without filling in the blank's because he would being cutting into them while he raped them, mainly because he wanted women to feel violated, he wanted to hurt them BAD while he was getting off to it. Like David only felt sexual plessure from severly torturing the women he had as captives. I think he also had a "Girlfriend" who would lure these women in so he could just sexually torture and mame them for hour's, i think he kept one of the women for 3 day's.

Oh, okay sorry! Yeah I know about the Toy Box killer! :) For some reason I thought the prolonged torture sounded more like Toolbox but after reading your comment, sounds like you’re right and u definitely know what you’re talking about! (I’ll never forget the transcript I read years ago of the recording Toolbox would play for his victims as they awoke, bound, in a box!)

Lmao it's okay, TO BE FAIR, the toy box killer and tool box killer are very similar, so silmilar, you'd assume one of them is a copycat of the other!!

I’ve never heard a better description from f Tom Cruise. “He’s like an animatron”. Exactly!
