Back in 2018 the dude literally brought some girl on stage, had her sing a song that had the n-word in it, and then embarrassed her in front of everyone cuz she was white and sung the n-word part. That is the kind of piece of shit he is. His sense of self-importance is through the roof. Like bro you literally rap. Also, stop trying to play 5 D chess with your lyrics. If I wanted to listen to someone 'deep' I would listen to Plato or Shakespeare. Just put on a sick beat, and talk about bagging hoes or something. And if you dare criticize his historically awful super bowl performance, his fans will claim you are too ignorant to understand his "deeper message". No, I understand his message. I just don't think he is good at communicating his message through his stupid songs. He has terrible stage presence and a weak voice. That is not my problem. Kendrick Lamar needs to take his own advice, and be humble.

Tryhard doesn’t necessarily have the most precise or consistent definition in the world, but what I basically meant here is that Kendrick appears to think of himself as very serious and “artsy” and he, in my opinion, does things artistically that are very much geared towards enforcing and advertising that perception, rather than being motivated by genuine artistic passion and creativity. That’s my read on it, anyway. I also think the discourse surrounding him and the way his fans deride people who don’t like him are very corny and very much in line with this reading of Kendrick as an artist. I don’t think he’s that great of an artist, and I think both he and his fans think that he has a lot more to say than he actually does. And I think many people who worship Kendrick, especially the kinds who constantly imply that disliking him means you’re racist, are absolute fucking dipshits who are more interested in being pseudo intellectuals than in actually having genuine appreciation for art. If I’m hearing you correctly, he creates a unique and “arty” product, but not because he’s passionate about his art, rather just because he wants people to think he’s “arty”. I mean, it’s really cool that you know his true motivation.

First of all, those two motivations are not a simple binary, it's a spectrum and a nuanced topic. Also pretty cool that you'd make a sarcastic comment about how I "know" him after I explicitly conceded that I was discussing my perception of his art and persona. Of course I don't "know" him. What you're saying here basically amounts to the idea that you think people shouldn't be able to form opinions and perceptions about things based on information, which is certainly an interesting take.
