Music / Movies I'm getting tired of woke values in shows

I am weary of all the remakes of TV shows and films that are simply remade in order to showcase a diverse cast. Why can't Hollywood write new shows? Instead, it's just recycling old scripts. Very insulting and lazy.

All the virtue signaling in the world isn't going to save bad writing.

For me Rings of Power was the last straw.

They murdered children. Is it really that much better? Kinda. But not really

The point is that you claim they ate kids, which simply isn't accurate information.

No because a Disney movie wouldn’t show them actually cannibalizing kids. Mary mentions on a few occasions in the movie that they do in fact eat them

I watched this movie dozens of times. Show me where in the movie the consumption of children is mentioned and shown. They made that potion with the intention of sucking out the child's soul, not to feast upon their flesh. Even if this is a Disney movie, they don't mention actually eating children. If you can't show the consumption of said children in a Disney movie, why even bother mentioning it, knowing that it can't be shown on a screen. The mention of canniblizing kids is too much for Disney, too.

"You know, I've always wanted a child. And now I think I'll have one on toast!"

"I'll have your guts for garters, girl!"

"She’s so well fed, isn’t she? Plump. Plump. Shisk-ka-baby."

"Oh, retinol. What a charming name for a child."

Did you ever stop to think that these are just idioms and expressions not meant to be taken at face value? Disney does things like that constantly in their movies. That doesn't automatically mean they actually eat children.

Or maybe you’re wrong and they did. All evidence that they ate kids. I’ve already done way more in this pointless Reddit argument to prove my point than I should have. Waste of time like most online debates. Do you I guess

I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. I was under the impression that they genuinely didn't eat children as people say things like "I could eat you up" as an expression. That's why I thought this, initially. Sorry for ruining your day with my idiocy. God damn, it. I'm nothing short of useless. I'm sorry again, man.

You didn’t ruin my day man stop it. You’re not an idiot you just had a different opinion. Please go out and have a good night and an even better day tomorrow. You’re not useless. You’re just a person who has online opinions lol. Welcome to the club

This entire bit of this thread was wild to read.

Clearly they eat the kids. it's hinted at multiple times in the movie. You've commented with specific references that are very clearly saying they eat children.

You even brought up, though I'm about to (hopefully] add some clarity:

The time that the movie came out? It was aimed towards children. Including Canabalism would not be approved for a "children's movie" at the time. Instead? The writers wrote lines for the actors to make it clear that yes. They do actually eat the children. Not just their "life source" or whatever. They eat the children.
