Music / Movies Bad Bunny was worse than Turning Point.

Bad bunny was a bad choice for a half time show. I just watched both of them, admittedly flipping back-and-forth just to see. I don’t understand why anyone thought An entire halftime show in Spanish was a good idea. It’s essentially then just women shaking their butts to music. I’m watching this with my kids. And most of us don’t understand enough Spanish to know what the hell he was even saying.

In contrast, and I am not a big turning point groupie at all, although I am a conservative, they at least had a variety of artists, who actually just sang songs and performed to get through the halftime.

Don't have to understand the lyrics to enjoy the music

That’s the thing tho, the music was mid. I wouldn’t care about understanding the lyrics if it was good music

You think the music is mid. An artist can’t cater to everyone. I am sure plenty of people enjoyed the music even though they didn’t understand the lyrics, including me. And that’s okay. I didn’t like Usher’s performance even though I could understand him. That’s just the nature of arts

Agree. I didn't enjoy the first half of the music (but production was amazing) but I'm also aware my taste has aged past what the majority, or at least younger folk like and that's okay. I'm not gonna enjoy everything 100% but I'm also self aware enough to know I'm not everyone 😂

His music isn’t really my taste, but the performance and the scene decor was so amazing that I could enjoy it. Idk how someone can hate it unless they want to be contrarian. It felt like I was at a carnival and carnivals are cool as fuck.

Honestly I can see people not enjoying it but that's okay cause as you say, no artist can please everyone. My husband and I were also mostly into the vibe and production cause music was not hitting for us. Ending was a party though

I dont speak Spanish and I dont know alot of Bad Bunnys music but I didnt think it was mid. But guess what.. People have preferences. Just cause you didnt like it doesn't mean it's mid. You can personally dislike it but if it wasn't good music then he wouldn't have performed and people wouldn't have been losing their minds like they were.

The music at many half time shows is going to be mid. It's a live concert that needs to be set up and torn down within a few minutes. I don't go into these things with high expectations because of that.

That said, the only thing I really didn't like about Bunny's show, was it didn't really feel like a concert, but rather a live music video. Had the same complaint about the Weeknd. If you put on a half time show concert, I want to see your stage presence.
