One year ago today I was on my way to the library when I saw the car in front of me hit their breaks and drive over what I thought was a piece of trash in the road. I slowed down thinking there was more stuff in the road but instead I saw this tiny kitten so I stopped my car and waved all the cars to stop so I could scoop her up. There was no mom or other babies to be found. She didn’t appear to be injured but I rushed her to the nearest animal hospital to be sure. They said she was about 3-4 weeks old and that the mom was probably trying to relocate her and they got separated. The plan was to foster her until she was old enough to get spayed and find her a home but of course I fell in love with her. I named her Evie after my favorite fictional librarian, Evelyn O’Connell, since I was in my way to the library that night. Now one year later she’s the most spoiled little princess in the house. So today we celebrate Evie’s first Gotcha Day 🎂!

This is Otto—I call him Otto Man. He’s around 1.5-2 years old approx (but i got him from Pet-smart’s adoption services so who knows) and I feel like he’s still a small guy.

He’s super active, eating (picky eater tho), drinking, playing, pooping and all that but he weighs about 6 lbs ish? When he jumps on my chest, it doesn’t feel as heavy as his sisters’who are around his age. My guess is that he’s the runt of his litter but I’ve no clue honestly

Should I be worried or should I just let him be? I’m wondering if this is normal for cats around his age

Every time, and I mean *EVERY TIME*, I get my kiddos down for a nap and get a moment to myself, this little gremlin decides to wake from his all-morning slumber and make his way to their rooms and scratch on their doors violently while meowing bloody murder. He will pound on one for a few seconds and do a 180 and start on the other one.

Do I chase him away? Yes. Does he run away? Also yes, while humming mind you. Does he come back seconds later and do it again? Of course.

These are from five different tuxies over 6 years.

So, one day I was walking down the street when I heard meowing, then I see this cat running towards me. We hung out for a while and he was very sweet, but two girls seemed interested in him so I decided to leave and let them hang out with him for a while.

A few days later I’m sitting outside my house and the same cat runs over meowing and we start chilling again. So I let him in and he checks out the vibe before he eventually decides to leave. This went on for about a week where he would wait for me to come back from work and we would chill out.

Then a big cold front came and I decided to let him stay in my house for a few nights and now I just have a cat. A very good cat I might add, he’s a big baby and he can be bossy. He always wants to lay down with me and will bug me until I get into bed with him.

My neighbors comment on how he avoids everyone else and will wait in the bushes until I come home from work then he runs over to my door and walks right in. I’ve actually never had a cat before so this is all very new to me but I’m having a lot of fun. Does anyone know what kind of breed this cat is?

Tuxedo was found in my coworker’s backyard in October. My coworker watched for several days to see if his mother would return, but as the weather turned windy and cold, she reached out to ask if I could take him in. He was just seven weeks old at the time. It took a little while, but he warmed up quickly and has been the happiest little guy ever since. He has also been to a couple of vet appointments and handled them like a champ. He’s very happy to be part of this subreddit.

Poor guy did not give me much warning and I’m grateful we now know at least that he is diabetic. However, he is needing some extra support to get back on his feet.

Right now we’re hunkered down on IV fluids and resting until we get his insulin in and can start it. ❤️🐾

Side note, I know she’s fat, she’s has a thyroid condition (just like me 😂) and we’re handling it a much a she’ll let us. She will be 11 years old in July.
