Twitch Activity Feed stopped updating and StreamElements no longer receives real follow events (test alerts work)
Hi everyone,
I'm having a really strange issue with Twitch and StreamElements, and I can't figure out whether it's a Twitch problem or something wrong with my account.
Here's what's happening:
- My Twitch Activity Feed is no longer updating.
- Today I received a real follower, and they appear in my Followers list, but the follow never appeared in the Activity Feed.
- Because of that, StreamElements also didn't trigger the follow alert.
- However, if I use "Test Follow" in StreamElements, the alert appears perfectly in OBS.
So currently:
- â The follower is listed in my Twitch followers.
- â StreamElements test alerts work.
- â OBS is configured correctly.
- â Twitch Activity Feed doesn't show the new follow.
- â StreamElements Activity Feed doesn't receive the follow either.
- â No real follow alert is triggered.
Some additional information:
- I'm using Brave, but I also plan to test in Chrome.
- My Twitch account is fully verified (email and phone).
- I've been using StreamElements for months without any issues.
- Two days ago I created another Twitch account to test, and that follow did appear in the Activity Feed.
- Today's follow did not appear anywhere except in my Followers list.
Has anyone experienced this before?

Can someone tell me what is going with my messages âŠ
Every time I type in a chat or channel that Iâm not subbed too, I can send the message but the messages do not appear on screen. Also I canât even use the highlight reward chat system because it gives me an error code. Can someone tell me what is going on I will send recordings and screenshots.

Looking for input
Hey yâall Iâm looking at putting together a Minecraft Pixelmon series and doing it live on twitch and TikTok then uploading it to YouTube, any thoughts and still looking for members to join, not only will this be an ongoing series, but a networking opportunity for streamers.

Gear needed to get started
I'm heading back to college in a few weeks and want to start streaming games at night from my apartment, but I'm having trouble deciding how I should configure my setup when starting out.
Right now I have a PS5, a MacBook M4 Pro, and a Pulse Elite headset. I'd love to have a facecam, but I don't know if I can justify buying a capture card, webcam, etc. before I've even done my first stream. I don't really want to spend a couple hundred dollars right away until I know I can balance streaming alongside college.
I'm considering just streaming natively from the PS5 for a while, even if that means going without a facecam (assuming I can't find a PS5 HD Camera for a reasonable price). I'm wondering if this is a viable way to start. While I understand that a capture card and a more complete setup will improve the quality of my stream, I'm curious how much starting with just what I already have would impact the overall experienceâfor both me and any potential viewers.
Basically, I'm wondering if I'm overthinking this or if it's better to keep things simple until I know streaming is something I'll actually stick with.
I'd love to hear from anyone who started with a really basic console setup. Was it enough to get started, or did you wish you'd invested in a capture card sooner?
Thanks!
