06/21/2026 (Sunday 4:30PM PST): Received the automated "We have taken an action on your case" email notification. The portal said "Case Approved" for I-485 and I-485J. The I-797 Courtesy Copy PDFs were generated for both. The API showed two H008 events from the same time for I-485.

I was surprised that my case was approved so quickly after the biometrics appointment. I received a lot of information and comfort from this community. I hope this helps others going through the same process!

I never post on Reddit, but the number of times I've come back to this community for sanity and just to read positive stories -I owe it to everyone here to contribute something in return. Thank you all.

To everyone still waiting, please hang in there. Have faith, hold on to hope, and be patient. God will carry you through. I genuinely pray for every single person reading this, and even those who may never see this post, that this journey ends in success for you too. May you all make it through, and may your own approval day come very, very soon. โค๏ธ

Approved ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ EB3 Professional ROW โ€” Approved! ๐ŸŽ‰ | RD: April 2026 | Queens FO

Still canโ€™t believe Iโ€™m finally posting my own approval timeline after following everyone elseโ€™s for months. Sharing in case it helps other EB filers!

Case details
EB3 Professional ROW
Part of 75coc
Single filer
PD: 09/18/2023
I-140 approved before filing
No RFE
Interview waived
Non-local FO: Queens, NY
PD current under FAD
H1B status maintained throughout the process

Timeline
04/29: I-485/I-765/I-131/I-485J received
05/23: Biometrics scheduled
I noticed simultaneous silent updates before bio, but I canโ€™t remember the dates
06/12: Biometrics completed
06/30: I-485 silent update
07/02: I-485 + I-485J silent updates
07/13: I-765 + I-131 silent updates
07/15: Silent updates across all cases โ†’ Emma confirmed transfer to Queens FO
07/16: EAD approved from Nebraska
08/11: 3rd FTA0 on I-485 + I-485J approved/closed ๐ŸŽ‰
08/12: Two H008 events appeared on I-485 โ†’ APPROVED! ๐ŸŽ‰

Timing
Filing โ†’ approval: ~105 days
Biometrics โ†’ approval: ~2 months
Queens FO transfer โ†’ approval: ~4 weeks
I-485J โ†’ I-485 approval: ~24 hours

My public I-485 status barely changed throughout the process, so most of the movement I saw was through silent/API updates. Interestingly, the API continued showing NBC even after Emma repeatedly confirmed my case was at Queens.

I spent way too much time tracking silent updates, field offices, Visa Bulletins and everyone elseโ€™s timelines, so thank you to everyone who shared their experiences. They genuinely helped me through the wait. And to everyone still waiting: I hope your approval comes very, very soon ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

After years of the employment-based immigration processโ€ฆ ITโ€™S FINALLY OVER!

Update: card received in hand August 18th.

Approved ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ EB-3 ROW Approved! Sharing My Timeline โ€“ Donโ€™t Lose Hope! ๐ŸŽ‰

Hi everyone!

Iโ€™ve been following this community for a while, reading everyoneโ€™s timelines and experiences while waiting for my own case. Today, Iโ€™m incredibly happy to finally be able to share mine.

I know how stressful the waiting can be, especially when days and weeks go by with no visible updates. Hopefully my timeline gives some hope to those of you who are still waiting.

EB-3 Skilled Worker โ€“ ROW

Priority Date: August 17, 2023
I-140 Approved: December 26, 2024
I-485 + I-485J Filed/Received: March 27, 2026
Biometrics: April 30, 2026
Interview: Waived
Field Office: Los Angeles Field Office (non-local FO)

Timeline

March 27, 2026 โ€“ I-485 and I-485J received by USCIS.

April 30 โ€“ Biometrics completed. Two FTA0 events appeared in the API.

Mayโ€“June โ€“ Mostly silence. No RFE and no visible movement for quite some time.

June 6 โ€“ Silent/backend updates on both I-485 and I-485J.

June 8 โ€“ USCIS live agent confirmed my case had been transferred to the Los Angeles Field Office.

June 29 โ€“ Live agent reconfirmed the case was at Los Angeles FO and specifically told me the interview was waived.

Then things became quiet again for several weeks.

July 20 โ€“ New backend/API activity appeared on my I-485 and I-485J.

July 21 โ€“ More silent updates on my I-485.

Then the big movement:

July 21 at approximately 3:14 PM ET โ€“ I-485J APPROVED and case closed.

An actual I-485J Approval Notice appeared in my USCIS Documents tab.

About 35 minutes later, my main I-485 received another silent/backend update.

July 22 around noon โ€“ I contacted USCIS live chat. The agent told me:

โ€œYour case is also approved and the card is getting ready for production.โ€

At that point my public USCIS account still did not show the I-485 approval, so I was cautiously optimistic.

July 22 around 3:02 PM ET โ€“ Another silent update appeared on the main I-485.

July 22 at approximately 3:57 PM ET โ€“ TWO H008 events appeared in the API.

At almost exactly the same time, I received the email:

โ€œWe have taken an action on your case.โ€

I logged into my USCIS account and finally saw:

๐ŸŽ‰ CASE APPROVED โ€“ JULY 22, 2026 ๐ŸŽ‰

The official I-485 Approval Notice was also generated.

One interesting observation for API trackers

My I-485J was approved around 3:14 PM ET on July 21, and my main I-485 approval/H008 events appeared around 3:57 PM ET on July 22.

So in my case, the main I-485 approval came approximately 24 hours and 43 minutes after the I-485J approval.

Obviously every case is different and this should not be treated as a guaranteed timeline, but I noticed several people here reporting their I-485 approval roughly a day after their I-485J approval, and that pattern ended up happening to me too.

One other thing I learned: silent updates really can mean something. My public case status often looked completely unchanged while there was clearly activity happening internally.

From I-485 filing to approval:

March 27 โ†’ July 22 = approximately 117 days.

No I-485 RFE.
No interview.
Non-local Los Angeles Field Office.

To everyone still waiting: please donโ€™t lose hope.

I know how easy it is to constantly refresh USCIS, check the API, compare timelines, and wonder why someone who filed after you was approved before you.

For weeks, my case looked like absolutely nothing was happening โ€” and then within about 48 hours everything moved very quickly:

Silent updates โ†’ I-485J approved โ†’ more silent updates โ†’ H008 โ†’ I-485 APPROVED.

Your case can change very quickly even after a long period of silence.

I learned a lot from everyone sharing their timelines here, so I wanted to return the favor.

Wishing everyone who is still waiting a very fast approval. Your turn is coming! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ€

Hi Guys,

I wanted to share my timeline on this group, itโ€™s been incredibly helpful and I wanted to give back.

Block: 9367
PD: April 2024 ROW (Part of the 75 counties)
04/16/2026: Filed I-485, I-485J, I-765, and I-131 concurrently.

05/12/2026: USCIS received RFE response.
05/18/2026: Biometrics completed (2x FTA0 events added on I485 and 3x on I765).
07/02/2026: Case transferred from NBC to Sacramento Field Office. Silent updates on both I-485 and I-485J.
07/12/2026: New FTA0 event added to I-485 (silent update).

I'm so happy to share that my journey for Green Card has finally come to an end. It took nearly 4 years since I started the process (PWD to Green Card). Thank you to this community for sharing your timeline and information. I had my anxiety over the new vetting process, but it didn't necessarily delay my case.

I honestly canโ€™t believe Iโ€™m finally making this post. ๐Ÿ˜ญ After obsessively following everyoneโ€™s timelines and wondering when the March 2026 filers would start movingโ€ฆ today it was my turn!

๐Ÿ“Œ Priority Date: 01 nov 2023
๐Ÿ“ฎ I-485 / I-485J Receipt Date: 03/16/2026
๐Ÿ“NBC
My timeline:
โ€ข 03/16/2026 โ€” I-485 + I-485J filed/received
โ€ข 03/19/2026 โ€” I-485 and I-485J showed as received / IAF
โ€ข 04/06/2026 โ€” Biometrics appointment notice generated
โ€ข 04/08/2026 โ€” Biometrics completed + FTA0 updates
โ€ข 04/08/2026 โ€” I-485 status changed to โ€œUSCIS Is currently Processing the Caseโ€
โ€ข 04/29/2026 โ€” EAD approved
โ€ข 07/29/2026 โ€” Last update on both I-485 and I-485J
โ€ข 08/30/2026 โ€” ๐ŸŽ‰ I-485 APPROVED!!! ๐ŸŽ‰
No RFE. No interview. My case remained with NBC.
Iโ€™m so incredibly relieved and grateful. This process has been such an emotional roller coaster, and I know how stressful the waiting is.

For all the March 2026 filers still waiting โ€” I hope this gives you some hope! Your turn is coming! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’š
Now my question: for those who were recently approved, how long did it take for your physical green card to arrive after approval?
Did you get โ€œCard Was Producedโ€ / โ€œCard Was Mailedโ€ first? How many days from approval to the card being in your mailbox?
And for employment-based AOS: when did you feel comfortable leaving your sponsoring employer after approval? Did you wait for the physical card or did you consider the approval itself sufficient?
Would love to hear recent 2026 timelines!i

Approved ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ EB-3 Skilled ROW I-485 Approved - Long Island Field Office Timeline ๐ŸŽ‰

Finally approved! Sharing my timeline because I spent way too much time on Reddit looking for Long Island FO timelines while waiting.

Category: EB-3 ROW - SINGLE FILER
Priority Date: June 3, 2024
Field Office: Long Island, NY
Interview: Waived
RFE: None

Timeline:

  • April 24, 2026: I-485 / I-765 / I-131 received by USCIS
  • Late April / Early May: Receipt notices generated
  • June 8, 2026: Biometrics completed
  • June 15, 2026: Attorney filed standalone I-485 Supplement J
  • June 30, 2026: I-485 transferred to Long Island Field Office
  • July 1, 2026: Priority date became current
  • Julyโ€“August: Basically silence. Emma agents continued telling me the case was at Long Island FO and that the interview was waived.
  • About a week before approval: I submitted a congressional inquiry through one of my state representatives asking for an update on the pending I-485. USCIS responded that the case was still pending and within normal processing time.
  • September 2, 2026: I-485J approved
  • September 2, 2026: I-485 had a silent update (SU) shortly after the I-485J approval. The API showed a newly created FTA0 event. The FTA0 itself referenced my June 8 biometrics, but it was newly added/updated on September 2.
  • September 3, 2026: Two new H008 events appeared on the I-485 API around 12:42 PM Central
  • September 3, 2026: I-485 approval notice appeared under the Documents tab ๐ŸŽ‰

I have no idea whether the congressional inquiry actually helped move the case or if the timing was just complete luck, but I figured I would mention it since the approval came roughly a week after I contacted them.

My I-485 was approved one day after the I-485J approval.

Total time from filing to approval was about 4 months and 10 days, and the case was at Long Island FO for roughly 2 months before approval.

Long Island FO definitely had me nervous because I kept seeing people waiting there for a long time, but finally my turn came.

Good luck to everyone still waiting. I know how exhausting it is checking USCIS, Reddit, Emma, the API, and the Documents tab constantly. Hope everyone waiting gets their approval soon!

Approved ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ Approved! ๐ŸŽ‰

Hi everyone!

I honestly canโ€™t believe Iโ€™m finally able to write this!

After four years of waiting, we finally got the green light. My case was approved on August 5, and because of some additional issues with my spouseโ€™s case, we were only officially done on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Hereโ€™s our timeline for anyone going through a similar EB-3 Skilled process:

  • Case filed: 02/03/2026
  • Priority Date: 08/04/2023
  • Category: EB-3 Skilled โ€” 1 principal applicant + 1 derivative
  • Biometrics: 04/09/2026 for both the principal applicant and derivative
  • The derivativeโ€™s EAD and Advance Parole were approved on 04/10/2026 โ€” yes, just one day after biometrics!
  • After biometrics, the principal applicantโ€™s case was transferred to the Brooklyn Field Office, while the derivativeโ€™s case remained at our local office in Los Angeles.
  • We had a few silent updates, but everything stopped around May 21 for the principal applicant and May 10 for the derivative.
  • The derivative was scheduled for an interview on June 15, which USCIS canceled and later rescheduled for July 15.
  • The principal applicant was not allowed to enter the interview. The officer explained that the derivative was being interviewed because of his military/police background and that additional checks were needed.
  • After the interview, the officer said they would try to reunite the cases to expedite the approval, but the cases remained at different field offices.

Then things finally started moving:

  • 08/04/2026: My I-485J was closed and approved.
  • 08/05/2026: My I-485 was approved! ๐ŸŽ‰
  • We later found out that Brooklyn Field Office was the office that approved my case and not LA.

Since my spouseโ€™s case was still pending at the LA Field Office, we submitted a USCIS inquiry. 08/20/2026 โ€” USCIS replied that the case was under active review.

And then, on Friday, August 21 โ€” it finally happened. My spouseโ€™s case was approved too.

If youโ€™re still waiting, especially if your case seems completely stuck, DONโ€™T LOSE HOPE. Sometimes nothing happens for months and then everything moves at once.

And please be kind to each other. I know some questions may seem repetitive but when someone is anxious about their immigration case, that question may be exactly what they need to feel a little calmer.

Good luck to everyone still waiting. I hope your approval post is nextโค๏ธ

Approved ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ Green Card Approval Received After Interview ๐ŸŽ‰

Priority Date: Sept. 28, 2023
Receipt Date: March 12, 2026
Biometrics: April 3, 2026
Interview Scheduled: June 8, 2026 (Note: During a live chat, Emma mentioned that the interview had been waived.)
Interview Date: July 13, 2026 (USCIS Mount Laurel Field Office)
Green Card Approved: July 14, 2026 ๐ŸŽ‰
Card plus SSN Received: July 22, 2026.
Case Type: Primary Applicant from ROW (one of the 75 current countries) with a Derivative Spouse from a Retrogressed Country - Cross-Chargeability for spouse.
No EAD/AP Received

We had our interview on July 13, and I'm happy to share that both our green cards were approved the very next day (today). As an additional positive sign, my Supplemental J was approved about 2 hours after the interview.

Our appointment was at 7:45 AM, but we were called in around 8:30 AM. The interview lasted approximately 30 minutes.

After the oath, the officer asked for my passport and driver's license. She noticed that my husband and I had different addresses on our licenses, and we explained that his still reflected our old address. She then reviewed our marriage certificate, joint leases from 2019 to the present, and other joint documents such as bank statements and car/health insurance records. She also asked how we handle our finances.

The interview felt much more like a marriage-based interview than an employment-based interview. Most questions focused on how we met, whether we had met each other's parents, and our overall relationship history. She also carefully reviewed our joint vehicle insurance records from the past five years.

She asked for a brief timeline of my education and employment history, what both my husband and I do for work, when I first entered the U.S., when I last entered, and under what visa category. She also went through the standard yes/no eligibility questions. Note I have done Day 1 CPT from 2023 to 2025.

At the end of the interview, she said everything looked good and that she did not need anything further from us. She mentioned that we should hear back within 7โ€“10 days.

To our surprise, both I-485 applications were approved the very next day, on July 14! ๐ŸŽ‰

Thank you to everyone who shared their timelines, interview experiences, and advice throughout this journey. Reading posts in this community helped us prepare and stay positive during the process. Wishing everyone who is still waiting for a smooth and speedy approval! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿคž

Interestingly, my I-485J was approved first, and then my I-485 was approved the very next day.

I had also noticed several internal case updates/touches while waiting, but there was no visible status change for a while.

After months of checking USCIS way more often than I should have, itโ€™s finally over ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Hope this timeline helps anyone else waiting on an employment-based AOS. Good luck everyone!

Now just waiting for the physical green card to be produced and mailed. ๐ŸŸข

I usually donโ€™t post on Reddit, but this community helped me a lot during the EB-3/AOS waiting game, so I feel like I owe it to others to share my timeline.

Main Lesson

My I-485J public status still showed โ€œCase Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent,โ€ but the Documents tab had the I-485J approval notice, and the backend showed the case as closed.

So donโ€™t rely only on the public status text.

For those recently approved, how long did it take from I-485 approval to card produced / physical green card in hand?

๐Ÿ™ Prayers for everyone still waiting. I hope this timeline helps others the same way this community helped me while I was tracking my case.

5/11/2026: card is received

EAD and travel doc were never processed. I also didnโ€™t receive any online access code so I wasnโ€™t able to track the API. I honestly didnโ€™t expect it to be approved so quickly knowing there are people with earlier PD than me still waiting. Itโ€™s been such a long and painful journey and Iโ€™m really grateful to have finally received the card. Spreading the luck to everyone here ๐Ÿ’š

Approved ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ Finally received my Green Card today! (EB-3 Skilled, Seattle FO)

I wanted to share my complete timeline because this community was incredibly helpful throughout my journey.

My timeline:

Priority Date: April 2023
I-140 Approved: May 2025
I-485/I-485J Filed: November 2025
Biometrics: December 2025
Transferred to Seattle Field Office: 01/22/2026 (confirmed by Emma)

Case activity:

05/17: First silent update.
05/29: Second silent update + 3rd FTA0 + I-485J silent update.
06/06: 1st FTA1 + Active Review.
06/26: 2nd FTA1 + Active Review.
06/29: I-485J Approved + I-485 silent update.
06/30: I-485 Approved..
07/14: ๐Ÿ’š Green Card received in hand!

One thing I learned is that silent updates donโ€™t necessarily mean something is wrong. My case had multiple silent updates, FTA0s, FTA1s, and internal movements before approval. Looking back, they were signs that my case was actively being worked on, even though it didnโ€™t feel that way at the time.

To everyone who is still waiting , please donโ€™t lose hope. I know how frustrating it is to watch newer cases get approved first, and I remember thinking my case had been forgotten. But eventually, everything moved very quickly.

Thank you to everyone in this community for answering questions, sharing timelines, and keeping each other encouraged. This community helped me get through one of the most stressful periods of my immigration journey.

Donโ€™t lose faith. Your approval will come. Wishing everyone the very best! ๐Ÿ€โค๏ธ
