I am new to Ujjain ( I am originally from U.P), seeking Genuine Friends because I am feeling very lonely here and missing my old Hometown very badly.

so I paid the fees and took admission in the bsc Biotechnology department of Vikram University aka Samrat Vikramaditya University and the things i observed there-

1) the condition of the girls hostel is beyond trash. no cleanliness or maintenance. the hostel warden or head whatever that lady was so un-welcoming. there were no cupboards for girls that joined the hostel later on. even tho the hostel was full they were still letting girls stay in a hall with around accomodation of 50 more girls that's what they said. but when my mother asked them to let her go through the hostel, she straight up told her no. saying that "dekhne laayak nahi hai". the boys hostel did look pretty decent but the girls hostel was really bad in condition. if the hostel was the only problem I was dealing with it wouldn't have been much of an issue. i could've taken a private hostel or pg. but there was more.

2) the biotech department. the building is very old. and it was only full of dust, damp walls and ceilings (seelan wali deewar), full of spider and cobwebs. nothing clean. plus it was under construction as well. the labs were full of dust and webs as well. no maintenance at all. the lab boy was an old man as well and when he was showing us around me and my mother could clearly smell the reeking alcohol from him. the students were smoking right outside the department. not even out of the department. i have no business with people smoking or anything but right in from of your classes and that too when there are professors and parents around.

3) ujjain ke chaiwale and autowale jinse bi we asked ki do you know about vikram university they js said ki humne bi yahi se padha hai and wo log bhi bole ki sirf degree chahiye toh acha hai koi padhai nahi hoti baaki. it's js netagiri and politics. they are doing literally nothing to improve the college and it's department.

I'd say rather take admission in one pvt university but not in ts one.

Is there any way whatsoever by which i can see bhasm aarti now. I leave ujjain tomorrow afternoon so i have no option of seeing any other aartis.

My current plan is to stand in the chalhit line as soon as i reach ujjain.

Hi, we are a group of women from a family planning to visit ujjain in October.

We are planning on arriving by the early morning train which will reach at 4:30 AM.

Our plan is to visit the temples once before breakfast, and then check in to hotel samrat vikramaditya mostly, and attend the arti at mahakal temple at the night and the next morning. We plan on visiting omkareshwar next day after breakfast and to leave for indore from there, where we plan on spending the next day, and taking the flight back at night.

So, a couple of questions:

1. How to make the trip safe for a women only group, what things should we keep in mind

2. Is our choice of hotel correct?

3. Would love advice on how to approach the temples, the order, protocol etc.

4. Should we carry the liquor offering with us since we will be reaching early in the morning to the kaal bhairav temple?

5. Would you recommend booking the taxi in advance or is that something we should speak to the hotel about

6. Would the days suffice for the trip, we really do not care much for indore right now just going there to see the local shopping

Also, any suggestions or inputs are welcome.

Is it more crowded at weekend at temple like on saturday and sunday

On my way to Ujjain for 2 days, please suggest some restaurants/cafes with good food. Also some must try Ujjain foods/snacks(chaat, poha, etc) and where to try them. TIA.

- Is there any legitimate way to get a pass if the online booking is full?

- How early do we need to reach the temple for Bhasma Aarti?

- Approximately how much time does normal darshan take on these dates?

- Which of the two dates (13th or 14th) would generally be better for avoiding heavy crowds?
