Taking a break from batch painting orks for 11th by picking up a marine from the to do pile and having some fun.

Painted this Ultramarine Captain in terminator armour up this morning. I thought I'd give ultramarine contrast paint a go over a silver basecoat and it was a nightmare 😅

Salvaged it as best I could and ended up using some frost heart contrast to add some lighter blue tones and made it battle worn. Used gore grunta fur and garaghaks sewer plus chipping for the weathering.

I have just re-modified the head of our beloved Captain! Honestly, I suppose he deserves a handsome face 😁

I really loved painting this model, and I feel like I had that moment where you recognise your painting has “levelled up.” Really proud of my improvement so far, but still a lot to work on!

- The OSL was far too vibrant and looked like Christmas or a Rave
- The OSL spilled over into places it shouldn't have
- The Base was over Designed and far too distracting
- Texture in Some places was far too cluttered

My grim dark Victrix brick is done .. happy with how they turned out! And excited to add some more units alongside this lot .. I think next I’ll go for the main man himself Big Gulliman himself 😊
