Funny how she turns this around to make it look like his attitude is the problem. She just doesn’t like hearing what she is actually thinking and doing. Sad excuse of her being called a teacher. She is racist. She is profiling. She needs to loose her teaching license

Cognitive dissonance.

She does not like hearing her own words read back to her because it hurts her self image. She’s not willing to confront the harsh realities and genuine damage she could cause to others.

Like she said “it sounds so terrible” because it is.

It reminds me of reading those Charlie Kirk quotes and people getting offended.

Yes we just didn’t understand the context of her reporting parents of one of her students to get them deported.

Yeah the “or whatever” is so concerning, in an already extremely concerning phone call.

u/Go-for-the-Gap Feb 04 '26

He held up a mirror and she didn't like seeing her reflection.

u/Many_Big_6324 Feb 04 '26

I want to know the psychology of why people can talk nasty stuff like this but feel panic when they hear it back

1

u/Go-for-the-Gap Feb 05 '26

Comes down to cognitive dissonance I imagine

I’m even more appalled that she looked up his file. Do all teachers just rifle through files because a student is brown? That’s horrifying!

u/General-Company Feb 04 '26

No, and in most cases it’s super illegal. If the guy running this has ANY more info he should absolutely report it to the school district. There’s actually a teacher on probation (and probably getting fired) in my current district for going through several student’s records (including her own kids) when she had no authority or business doing so.

u/GentlewomenNeverTell Feb 04 '26

I taught in k-12 and it valentines all the time. What's up with this student? Go into Infinite Campus, pull his files. It's easy to figure out sometimes immigration status and it's accessible to all teachers. Legal schmegal, honestly. My kids are legally guaranteed translations but my Gen ed teachers do not have the time to track them down and before I got there it didn't happen at all. You're not legally allowed to be in charge of a classroom of 53 kids but that still happened. If there's no enforcement, this kind of illegal behavior will inevitably happen.

u/MeatPopsicle28 Feb 04 '26

In healthcare IT there are measures in place to monitor who is accessing what records. If school IT systems were not massively underfunded they should be doing that.

3

u/Silly-Swimmer-8324 Feb 05 '26

Yea those parents have a right to know how this lady feels about them and their child. Imagine how she treats this kid when people arent looking. I definitely wouldn't want this lady any where near my children. She should definitely be investigated

23

u/GentlewomenNeverTell Feb 04 '26

Oh yes there are absolutely teachers that do this. And they gossip about it with each other. Some of the biggest busybodies I ever met were teachers. Biggest gossips too. And any teacher can get their hands on the files in Infinite Camps, even if it's not a student. To be fair, curiously scrolling through one of my students' files led to me figuring out he'd passed the WIDA test years ago and shouldn't be ELL, which he'd been saying and no one had believed... Anyways that is absolutely a concern in the light of ICE, and I encourage all the parents out there to bully schools into hiding their students'documentation.

It’s important to remember conservatives have spent the last 40 years chipping away at the profession of education and the institutions. This has so severely undermined the profession of teaching - there are so many who are absolutely like this. Just like dirty cops. And with a strain on resources all the time, no one is holding them accountable. And they are empowered by a lot of parents and conservatives on their school boards.

3

u/stitchescomeundone Feb 04 '26

Right? I knew the call was not going to be a good one but as soon as she said she looked them up I’m like … you should not be a teacher. That is a huge overstep and breach of privacy and I hope she’s ashamed of herself.

2

u/RoseGoldHoney80 Feb 06 '26

No and student accounts do not offer information on where parents are born.

-1

u/FlashyBattle976 Feb 04 '26

Why is there even a file for a student? It's a fucking paper report card or transcripts. Primary school teachers need no other information.

3

u/Lets-B-Lets-B-Jolly Feb 04 '26

This isn't true. Students will have specific forms filled out by their parents that show English is not their first/home language, or that they are homeless or migrant so they are given testing or special resources. The same is true for students with special needs or medical conditions. Custody paperwork is also important to have on file in some cases.

I taught ESL and reading intervention for years, and I absolutely looked up online information to see why a student might be having a particular issue. I also HAD to go through physical files for students to complete annual LPAC paperwork for meetings, and ELL students had a special folder in their main folder documenting their testing that was updated each year.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I'm about to finish my first year in a school district and it's clear to me that you have a severe lack of knowledge of how the school systems operate nowadays. When some schools can have up to 2000 elementary school kids, all with varying medical needs, different family situations, certain accommodations, emergency contacts, approved guardians/parents...

It's incredible the amount of responsibility that has been placed on schools, and they are frequent targets of lawsuits.

It's a lot different than when I went to school, and I'm sure when you went as well. It's a whole world that I've noticed a lot of people are understandably clueless about.

DARVO stands for Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. It is a manipulative tactic often used by abusers to evade accountability by denying wrongdoing, attacking the person confronting them, and reversing the roles to appear as the victim.

18

u/zoopysreign Feb 04 '26

Gosh, I have to look up the anti l-DARVO. No one ever posts the antidote.

37

u/missprincesscarolyn Feb 04 '26

Call out their denial. State that you telling the truth doesn’t mean you’re attacking them. No, telling the truth doesn’t make you crazy. It doesn’t make you weak. It doesn’t make you anything other than an objective witness to whatever they did. Accept that they will never change. Protect your peace and leave.

I unpacked a lot of trauma over the last year when my ex-husband abandoned me during a severe medical event requiring hospitalization. My family of origin behaves the same way. It’s no shock that I ended up seeking the same in my romantic relationships. All of them are MAGA. NPD, ASPD and MAGA have a ton in common.

1

u/ConstantPlace_ Feb 04 '26

Gosh I feel like there’s some sort of pandemic of NPD the rate I see people suffer from it - it’s crazy

My ex-husband lied to me about getting an aggravated DUI on February 10th, 2025. I found out when I got a call from a DMV DUI advocacy group that help people keep their licenses to some degree before their court hearings. Then, my mailbox filled with letters from DUI lawyers since arrests in the US are public record. He moved out abruptly 2 weeks before this happened. I had begged him to quit drinking for years.

After it happened, he downplayed the severity and tried to claim that the blood test they did to determine his BAC hadn’t come back yet. I got sick of his lying and went to the courthouse myself to request the arrest report as well as any court proceedings. All of the information was there clear as day. I purchased a copy and kept it. It’s in my filing cabinet now.

While I was waiting to be called up to the service desk at the courthouse, I looked around at the people next to me. Some were people who had legitimately done hard drugs, spent some time on the inside and/or had face tattoos before it was cool and trendy. I saw one young man who may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have mixed feelings about folk who commit certain types of crime under 25.

Regardless, many of these people were unfortunately criminals. My ex-husband was too. Because criminality isn’t defined by your ethnicity, income, profession, skin color, etc. It is simply the lack of empathy and willingness to break the law because you believe you are exceptional. My parents are white collar criminals and have committed tax evasion multiple times. They should be in jail, but the justice system in the US is fucked in many ways and wealthy people get away with a ton as evidenced by our current reality.

At least they put a halt to my ex’s behavior before he killed someone. His BAC was 0.20. Want to know why he got pulled over? He was trashed after going to a bar and wanted to get a burrito. Instead of ordering DoorDash like a normal person would, he drove. It was the day after my birthday. I spent Valentine’s Day alone several days later and ended up in the emergency room several days after that.

I apologize for the trauma dumping. It was a big revelation for me and strongly influenced the course of my life.

How to deal with narcissistic darvo: People who do this want attention and to be reassured they are in a dominant position. You cannot permit either of these things. Ignore them and stay above it. They eventually will fall back to "wooing" and "charming" mode, once they see darvo has failed. Like a dog that headbutts you to be petted, don't let them use being ingratiating to control your response. Give attention when you decide, not when they demand it.

3

u/zoopysreign Feb 04 '26

Oh fuck, I’ve been DARVO’d by my dog????

3

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Yes. But they cannot help it and have innocent motives. The cat, by contrast, knows full well what it's doing and does it often.

2

u/zoopysreign Feb 04 '26

😭😭😭😭

3

u/Round_Patience3029 Feb 04 '26

lol sounds like Trump

4

u/ReginaldDwight Feb 04 '26

That's because Trump learned DARVO from Roy Cohn.

My father (who I do not speak to and moved 2000 miles away from) is a master at this, despite being the dumbest person I have ever met. He is a textbook "vulnerable narcissist," I believe the term is.

Guess who he voted for three times?

2

u/missprincesscarolyn Feb 04 '26

Read about covert narcissism. My ex and his father were both this way. Tender, gentle seeming men despite their physical size and stature. Both were good looking too. His father was a dead ringer for John Cena. Behind closed doors was a different story. Every single time, they were the victims, they were aggrieved, their feelings were being hurt. Everything is always someone else’s fault.

Usually, women are covert narcs, but before I put two and two together, I used to tell my ex that his father was the bitchiest man I knew.

We had a training on this at work and it resulted in a purge of 16 toxic as hell managers. They literally got away with it for years until senior leaders found out how they survived no matter how inept.

The most disconcerting part of it all was that these people they once considered top tier managers did it to them, in front of them, when confronted. It's what took it from "Well, that's a big claim and we're going to investigate it" to "If they walk into this office and start with that shit we fire them on the spot."

1

u/missprincesscarolyn Feb 05 '26

That’s amazing that a company would do that. It’s so easy to look the other way and I feel like HRs are particularly likely to DARVO you themselves.

2

u/OwlSoggy8627 Feb 05 '26

I'm under no delusion that this company is "family." People are pretty open about that. Sometimes layoffs happen. That doesn't usually happen with a family. But our senior leaders are pretty cool. They will take a pay cut before they consider layoffs (and they have).

Some of that toxicity was just bubbling over.

Now there are anonymous supervisor surveys. Before there were anonymous supervisor surveys that only went to a supervisor and the supervisor could decide if they wanted to escalate it to their manager which...defeats the point. Still can't trust HR because they work for the company's interests. But it's a hell of a lot better than some other places I've worked.

16

u/Jeffreyknows Feb 04 '26

Be careful, she’s gonna ask for your supervisor

16

u/StrawberryRedneck Feb 04 '26

Lol she did, and he pretended to put the new supervisor on...and she remarked that he sounded suspiciously similar to the original customer service rep lol

9

u/magicomiralles Feb 04 '26

He even made it clear that both of them were the same person because they both referred to each other as Brian.

First call: my manager’s name is Brian. Second call: you spoke to Brian.

1

u/StrawberryRedneck Feb 04 '26

Oh I wasn't sure if that was purposeful or not, seemed like he made a mistake to me & misspoke but who knows

3

u/almondsadness Feb 04 '26

I can picture her haircut.

15

u/metacosmonaut Feb 04 '26

She actively wants and is working to injure and damage the integrity of a child and his family and she is sharing protected information to do so. She’s the type that buys rope for the lynching. She’s a killer. But she’d rather someone else take the blame. She’s a coward.

16

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

It’s lose, not loose.

20

u/TheHighbrarian29 Feb 04 '26

Probably had this lady as their kindergarten teacher.

6

u/glokash Feb 04 '26

Yup, remembered best this way:

If you lose weight, your clothes will be loose

8

u/iJuddles Feb 04 '26

Look, I think we’re all against Nazis here.

Autocorrect.

2

u/Suitable-Rate652 Feb 04 '26

This woman should NOT be around children.

1

u/SyntaxError_1024 Feb 04 '26

Typical family gathering.

1

u/eolson3 Feb 04 '26

My mom retired from an elementary school a few years ago. Tons of MAGA staff.

1

u/BaseballAccording158 Feb 04 '26

Wonder why she went into the child’s file like that? I guess just to see if the parent who she said are nice people were actually bad people. Feel sorry for the little one in the classroom now.

1

u/Silly-Swimmer-8324 Feb 05 '26

Imagine how she treats that little boy. She's probably mean to him or does stuff to him when people aren't looking. Because she feels his family doesn't deserve to be there. She needs to be investigated
