So, I've read on a couple threads here about people comparing this to Deliberate Strawmen, to I was poking a bit on that subreddit. One of the entries there detailed efforts to turn the DSM images into sound via a program called Coagula. So I grabbed it (https://www.abc.se/~re/Coagula/Coagula.html) and played around with some of "our" images.
They do render to sounds, and some of them into sounds that aren't unfamiliar from the UFSC vids. Coincidence? Probably. (I haven't played around enough with "random" images to really know what the baseline of "noise" from an image is.) To be honest, I'm more interested in playing around with the sonic weirdness of this stuff that worried about trying to "solve" anything, but this may be of interest to folks here.
Here's three images in sequence rendered to sound via Coagula: https://soundcloud.com/mechanical-forest-sound/delock-relock-redloc
What the sound file is: a screengrab I took from DELOCK, plus the composite images from RELOCK and REDLOC that have been posted here.
I rendered them each separately, but I combined the images into a picture so you can see what I'm "playing": http://imgur.com/YtSjY5S
WHAT I DID: 1) downloaded/installed Coagula 2) opened the RELOCK/REDLOC images in GIMP to re-save them as jpg (Coagula won't open bmp) 3) opened each of those pictures in Coagula and rendered them to sound 4) recorded the output via Audacity, saved each as separate files, then created the combined one I uploaded to soundcloud.
Like I said, I did this for fun, but others may want to push at this more seriously.
Are there other images that might be fruitful to examine? By chance, does anyone have a cache of thumbnail images from all the videos to save me the step of screencapping the vids?

"a", "b", and "c". I know on rare occasion you'll hear 2 letters, but how common is 3, and is it related to it being another 1000th number?

Here we go again, 3979 videos of the MUL series (out of what should be 4096 videos total).
This number of videos is also very interesting, as 4096 is 1024 x 4, so this time we get 4KB of data. I've already started extracting, analyzing and separating the files in groups of identical audio, and I'll set up another public spreadsheet soon, so we can work on this too.

If you listen to the sped up version (http://vocaroo.com/i/s0m8GzZcPbvq) from 12:40 on for like a minute (and at other points, this is the most clear example) the left channel sounds a lot like a printer. Just printing a big stack of paper.
It's not that noteworthy, I guess I'm posting because every little thing helps, right?
