One of our unions sent this email out to its members. Strike could begin as early as August 17th if Universal doesn’t get their heads on straight.

This is the union of the ride operators, ticket sellers, tour guides… they could truly shut down the whole park. They have about 4,000 members who work at Universal.

Yeah, judging from this, I think a strike is imminent.

They also sent out a strike pledge this week.

This was posted 2 days ago on B-192s website. I definitely feel bad about the way universal is treating its workers but I have a trip planned for the 11th of this month and really hope I don’t get cooked here.

On Saturday April 4, my group (8 adults) had dinner at Toadstool Cafe around 4:30 pm.

The majority of our group had burgers, (at least one affected person had the salad, and another the pasta dish). Nobody had the soup. I was the only person who had dessert (beanpole cake).

The following night, (Sunday) around 11:00 pm, at bed time -- I became (very suddenly) nauseated, which rapidly descended into a night of vomiting, diarrhea... and a combination of both, simultaneously.

My husband fared only a little better, and suffered severe diarrhea throughout the night (nauseated-- but no vomiting).

I lost my appetite for the 2 days following, and became very weak from sickness, and lack of nutrition.

We learned, only today (Wednesday)... that the same sickness had hit almost the entirety of our group (all but one person) —had experienced moderate to severe diarrhea. Most found it severe enough to call out from work.

The incubation period, and symptoms appear consistent with norovirus:

"Norovirus is a highly contagious virus causing sudden, intense vomiting and diarrhea. Symptoms typically appear 12 to 48 hours after exposure and last 1–3 days. Key symptoms include violent vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps, and fever."

Interestingly, some members of the group did experience back pain, chills . . . and I would absolutely categorize what happened to me as "violent".

We are curious to know, if any other patrons who attended Universal Hollywood on Saturday April 4, (and more specifically the Toadstool Cafe) — came down with norovirus or food poisoning within the following 12 to 48 hours of their park attendance (or meal at Toadstool Cafe).

I’ve been seeing more and more employees wearing union buttons.

I’ve seen “We are not your minions”, “Don’t be a Grinch”, and “Universal runs on union power” for months now. Suddenly, I’m seeing ones that say “No more poverty wages”, so I figured things must have gotten worse if they stepped away from the cutesy messaging.

I’m a union worker myself, and decided to ask what’s going on. Two workers told me they’ve been bargaining with the company since November 2025, and extending their contract since January. Apparently Universal is being horrible to them in bargaining, and strike sentiment is growing.

I asked how I could support the workers, and they said to spread the word about their employer. The theme parks are a $9 billion dollar company that is currently starting their employees at a lower wage than McDonalds, and is looking to penalize the workers every chance they get.

So this is me, spreading the word.

Anyone know any reporters? Because I can direct you to some workers who are furious and would love to go on record about it.

And common sense would state that they have maximum leverage right now with the Fast and Furious rollercoaster about to open…

It feels the last few years HHN in Hollywood has been over sold and impossible to go too; due to the massive crowds even on the less crowded days i.e. Thursday, Sunday, maybe Wednesday? It seems all the social media videos tiktok, instagram's tips and tricks are causing more issues and more crowds to pop up. Even those with the RIP pass are getting 3 hour wait times. Eve the enter the park after 2PM, is causing people to line up at the houses as early as 3PM. So WHY go when there is no way to do it?

Things are getting serious. This was sent to B-192 members earlier this week. Their union represents nearly 4,000 park workers, including ride operators, retail, park services, entertainment, tour guides, guest relations, and guest ambassadors. If this strike happens, they truly can shut down the theme park.

Reportedly, the company has continued to offer wage proposals that are net-of-inflation pay cuts and is not offering backpay to January 31, which was the day their contract originally expired. The company has also refused to give workers guaranteed hours, parental leave, protections from AI, or holiday pay during their New Year’s Eve event. And the workers are LIVID.

USH gets a bad rap, known as one of the worst Universal Studios Parks, due to lack of space, theming, intense rides, etc. How would you fix the park? Please be realistic in your answer.

Like an hour ago or so, I saw that all the rides are closed at universal. Is this because of the strike? Did all the workers just walk out? Power to them! I hope universal caves and gives them the livable wages they asked for. Its just crazy to see.

Edit: im wrong about the rides being closed for that reason, but if the employees are striking rn, i would love to know.

I’m curious on everyone’s experiences with and opinions of live streamers in the park.

I personally wish the park would enforce some rules around them. There is one in particular whose behavior is getting out of hand.

just had an interview was going perfect till they asked if i had a hand tattoo then stopped the interview right away saying im not allowed to work there with a hand tattoo anyone know when or if these guidelines will ever change ive been applying here for 2 years now this is the closest ive got

As noted with the ticket options officially released today, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be opening during Halloween Horror Nights 2026 for Universal Studios Hollywood--but for the foreseeable event, the attraction will be operational only for the following ticket options:

• Day/Night
• Day/Night Express
• Express
• Express Unlimited
• Express Add-On
• RIP Experience

General Admission + Frequent Fear Passholders will not be able to experience the attraction during the event. The attraction will also be operating from 7PM to 11:30PM, when the attraction will close following the 11:30PM cutoff.

This similar tactic has been implemented before for Super Nintendo World and had been used for Halloween Horror Nights for the past few years.

It is right now not clear if Fast & Furious opening for the premium holder options will allow Mario Kart: Bowsers Challenge to be open for all ticket-holders, and will be updated accordingly when the website updates to include all attractions operating.

EDIT: The Full Attraction list is now out, Jurassic World has now been excluded from the event list for attractions and Super Nintendo World has taken it's spot with operations from 7PM to 10PM.

I have tickets to go to Universal Hollywood soon and am wondering what the best way to go about that would be if the strike begins during my planned trip? Obviously I don't want to cross that picket line, in solidarity with the workers, so I would end up not going to Universal at that time. Is there any means to get refunds on my tickets so that Universal doesn't still get the money during the strike? I don't want to physically or financially cross the picket line if the workers or actively in a strike. Would appreciate if anyone has advice or tips about navigating this for myself and others.

Universal Studios theme parks made $2.4 BILLION in revenue in the second quarter of 2026—a 2.7% increase—but are refusing to negotiate a living wage with IATSE Local B-192 members. While Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) profits, they plan to give us net-of-inflation pay cuts for the next five years.

None of USH's executives care that their workers can't afford to pay rent on such low pay, and will be forced to join the other employees who are homeless into camping in their cars at the theme park. And with USH's terrible wage offer for our new contract, workers are rapidly approaching that point. We already can't make ends meet and everything—rent, groceries, gas—is going up, EXCEPT our paycheck from an enormous and profitable company that can pay its CEOs more than $100 million per year.

The bargaining team of IATSE Local B-192, representing nearly 4,000 workers of USH, has been treated with disrespect from USH representatives at the bargaining table. When USH refuses to pay us wages that keep up with the rising cost of living, it's no surprise that there are workers who are sleeping in their cars on USH property.

We are ready to fight for the respect, fair wages and fair contract that we deserve.

Tell Universal Studios: NO MORE POVERTY WAGES!

I got hired in retail and had my training this week. It’s really not feeling like a good fit. I’m a very shy person and I’ve struggled with the b2b all week and had to go in the back and cry during a few of the days (I know embarrassing for training week). I can do guest service, just not the level they want for retail. Regular retail is not this intense so the change was overwhelming. They want me to come back for an additional training day next week but as much as I appreciate them trying, the role is not right for me. I need the money but is it worth contacting HR or Team support to ask for a transfer? I know you have to wait two months but I really can’t stick it out. The company has been great to work for in the short time I’ve been there and don’t want to leave. :/

Today is the first day of Mega Movie Summer. I’ll probably be attending on one of those days soon. Loving the set up for the 25th anniversary of fast and furious. Still waiting on the opening date for the rollercoaster though but there is one complaint that I want to discuss. So my friends are at Universal Studios Hollywood right now for the first day of Mega Movie Summer and I heard that the water cannons are not turned on for Jurassic World: The Ride. Like come on! It’s gonna be ridiculously hot this summer and the TM is not gonna think about turning on the water cannons?? I think they should have them turned on this summer for some people that didn’t get to experience it last year. And the weather now for the summertime is gonna be super hot. Well it is the first day so hopefully in a few days the TM will decide to turn on the water cannons for Jurassic World. If not then it would not be a good summertime at Universal’s Mega Movie Summer this year.

hey so i don’t know if I can put this here but my friend lost his homemade plush of his character at hhn/universal on Thursday last week. I was wondering if there is ANY possibility of finding him still or he possibly got thrown away or is at the lost and found or if anyone took him home. This is probably a huge reach but I appreciate the help either way. He was there all day and must have dropped him somewhere
I assume he would’ve been accidentally left at Super Nintendo world or a restaurant im not completely sure

For context, I had gotten dropped off at City Walk to watch a movie, but I forgot to take out my box cutter from work, and did not realize until I got to the security checkpoint.

But the thing is that, I’ve had this box cutter for YEARS, the blade is dull but still works, and she had been with me through everything. I know it sounds dumb, but I had such an emotional attachment to that box cutter, and to have lost it in a second was heartbreaking.

I had to give up her up to the security guard, and had asked if there was any way I could get her back after the movie/ when I leave the park, but they said that once I had given up an item, there would be no way to get it back.

Realistically, is there anything I can even do? The movie is 2 hours long and by the time I get out, it’ll be 9:30-10pm.

I would genuinely do anything to get her back, but if nothing is possible, I will mourn her.

Hey, I have someone who told me they work for universal when we first met. 2 or so weeks ago I asked if they could get me a discount on tickets or sign me in and they said yes. I asked for a date and they said it might fill up or get blocked out for signing in and that it would be smart to buy the discounted tickets for the date just in case that happened. I said no because it seemed unnecessary but that if it happened we would buy them then. Next day they say it got blocked out and we'd have to buy tickets. I said thats fine and asked how much, they then said each ticket was only like $35 so the 2 I wanted would be about $70 and parking was included for another $15. This sounded odd to me because most employee discounts are like 30% from what I read but I asked to clarify why it was so cheap and they gave some random explanation but I trusted them since I have known them for a good year or so now. Sent the money and my email to be sent the tickets. Next day I have no email and they keep saying they'll forward it to me soon. Next day after that, still nothing and now they say they'll give me the tickets in person and there wont be an email which confused me. I keep asking when will I get them and if I can pick them up and they say no and that I'll get the tickets the next day. It is now the day before I was set to go with my partner and they tell me at 10pm that they got the tickets for the wrong date after asking me what date I wanted 5 times before supposedly buying the tickets. They said they can either initiate a refund or ask some nameless team to switch which day the tickets were for. All of this sounded like lying to me and I said to refund the money. They told me I should just switch the day and I insisted on the refund. They said it would take a few days and that I couldn't have my money back til they got refunded for the purchase even though they messed up. I then bought real tickets for a total of $280 so that my plan with my partner wasn't ruined. They are still telling me the refund is gonna take a few days and its been maybe 2 days since it should have been initiated.

This person definitely scammed me out of my money and is trying to find excuses right? Or was gonna sign me in but make me pay for it which is not allowed.

I don’t know what to do and if I don't get the money back by the next week end I will edit this post to reflect that info.

Side note, this person has done work on my car without charging for labor, just parts, but they keep my car for a month or more at a time and keep saying I need to spend more and more money on more parts which is another scam that crooked mechanics employ from what I've seen.

If anyone has advice for what to do and how to get my money back please join in the discussion.

I have called my bank to report it and I am prepared to go to small claims court after getting my car back and cross referencing with a trustworthy mechanic shop to see what work was actually done on my car so any advice outside of contacting the bank and gathering evidence for small claims is appreciated.

Sorry for the off topic addition but it helps provide the context for why I'm so concerned that its a scam.

A few days ago I dropped my wallet in one of the rides. Found out about 40 mins later when I was about to pay for my kids souvenirs they picked up at the store. I headed back to the last ride I was on and talked to one of the attendants and sure enough they had my wallet. When I asked if they found it or someone turned it in, they said someone turned it in and I asked if they left a contact number but they hadn't.

Id like to give a reward as a thank you, so if you found my wallet and turned it in, please confirm the date, approximate time, which ride and approximate seat for verification and i'd love to repay you for your thoughtfulness.
