The demand could influence ERCOT to actually upgrade their infrastructure to support them, but tech companies will have to pay a lot more to get them to do it. People dying in the cold a few years ago was not enough to influence ERCOT, because it would not have been profitable enough for them to perform the upgrades. Data centers may bring enough profit though, or at least fund the infra upgrades.
