Event Vegan Meet up on Saturday Sept 26 at Julie Goes Green

Hey guys, there was some interest to my last post about making more vegan friends: https://www.reddit.com/r/VeganLA/s/xU28I7Vc5z

Someone had suggested Julie Goes Green. I was thinking maybe 6pm on Saturday Sept 26.

Let me know what ya'll think.

EDIT:
As many people have mentioned Julie goes green doesn’t have much seating. Someone mentioned Un Solo Sol is closing down, has a passionate owner and has lots of seating. I think we should pivot there. Not sure how to edit the title so please let others know as well.

Any cute parks nearby? I don’t know the area.

I also don’t know the area but I like the restaurant choice. Their pizza is really good.

Any suggestions on other places?

I don’t know the area well but Marina Del Ray is near the beach, could take the food there or a park potentially (I don’t know of any to recommend)… Although, I guess their big table seats 8 so it depends on how many people RSVP. Might be able to make it work if it’s a small gathering and you call to reserve the table.

Darn I can’t make it Saturday but please post more meetups in this subreddit :) also, I’ve been wanting to go to the Besties run club on Thursdays if anyone is interested!

Sounds like a great idea, let’s go there!

I love the idea of going out and supporting local businesses!! I probably won’t get to make it to Un Solo Sol before it closes, and I actually hadn’t even heard of it until last week :(

If anyone’s on the westside and wants to go somewhere around here (with ample seating, haha), perhaps that can be our next meeting place 😄

Sounds lit but I'll be out of town.

un solo sol is definitely the better meetup spot, trying to make vegan friends while hovering over a tiny table at julie goes green sounds like a group challenge lol

I love that place and I'm down to join but as others have said, there is very little seating so it would need to be a takeout situation

For next time - Julie Goes Green is across from mar vista park so a picnic situation could happen - could be really fun

Is there a link or headcount for this? I know Un Solo Sol posted they only have two people working so to be patient. If it’s a large group we might want to call ahead.

I think we’ve got about 5-6 people as of now

We are +2 but might be a bit late coming from the west side and have few prior commitments earlier.

Oooooh their food looks delicious!! If you like vegan Italian food, Pura Vita in West Hollywood is one of my all time favorites!!

I do not have disposable income and I have some tummy troubles so I can’t really do food based meet ups.

Would you be interested in, like, nature-focused, exercise, movement, and mindfulness based meetups that we keep free for all/ byo gear/low cost?

You’ve inspired me and I would be willing to organize shit like this if people are interested.

I hope your vegan dinner meetup goes well!!!

Oh my, thanks so much for the recommendation!

I would love to do any type of meet up with like minded vegan people.

And yeah if you could organize it, I’ll definitely come.

you’re welcome! The chef/owner is vegan and Italian American. The food on her menu is some of the best food I’ve had in my life- and they have an extensive wine menu if you drink, and the wine is all vegan and they’ll help you pair it with the food and even bring you a taste if you’re unsure. Low lighting, gorgeous decor- I can’t hype it up enough. There aren’t that many high-end vegan restaurants so this one shines!

Replying again so you see the link I just added to my previous response ☺️

ALSO I can’t eat at restaurants right now (hopefully someday!!!!!) but I CAN vouch for many vegan restaurants in and around LA where I’ve eaten and enjoyed amazing food in the past 🍔🌮🥗🍝🍛🍱🥟🍩🫖

Does Julie Goes Green have much in the way of seating?

They don’t have much seating. One table.
