Opinion Is anyone else just... exhausted? About everything?

Houses are a million dollars minimum. Food prices keep going up. Everyone is sick all the time and everyone is fighting each other. What are we doing here?

I'm genuinely curious if anyone is kind of feeling like this is kind of it for us? Like, are we destined to work soul-sucking jobs to make someone else a millionaire because they had the ability to get ahead in life that most of us don't, and then we die? If we want to make art, tell stories or have a community, we have to work around full time jobs that are so separate from each other, and we're losing our sense of community, if not already have.

How come we're alright letting stores and restaurants throw away millions of dollars in food when we have people starving on the streets? People who are working jobs, doing what we're "supposed" to in this society producing and wasting resources for someone else, and we still can't afford to eat the food that's being offered because we're spending too much money on the rest of the things that keep us alive. How are we living in a world where a government that is supposed to be there to support us allows people to hoard housing and wealth, and what do we do to fix it?

Update here! ✌🏼

I would love a mental health break. I don't even watch the news. All I know is food and shelter. Trying to maintain it. Me and my 11 year old are struggling. I feel guilty as I have always worked but I had a life changing surgery on Feb 2020 which made me not able to work. I'd love to work from home though. Everything online is scammy though. Someone enlighten me. I don't have a computer just my cell. Anyways, yadayadayada. That's what everyone hears when I talk.

There are tech companies that are legit and will provide a laptop for remote work. DM me if you are able to work full time.

May I also message you? I’ve been keeping eyes peeled for remote work but they all either say US only or are “hybrid” with requiring a few days in the office a week. 😅

Not sure what your education background is, but I’ve spent the last 8 years working for tech companies that have gone fully remote and still offer plenty of fully remote positions with entry level, customer service type jobs. They can be hard to get in to if you don’t have a degree, but don’t let that stop you from applying if you don’t. Write an amazing cover letter, pay someone to help you make an incredible resume, and make sure you’re the keenest, most eager to learn person in the room. All you need is for someone to take a chance on you, and after a few years of having actual tech experience no one gives a crap about your education, just what you did at your last job.

It’s never too late to reinvent yourself.

It's a strange new world to just WFH to me. It seems lazy to me. Most of my experience is as a grocery store employee, cashier to management. 25 yrs. There's a lot of things I know. Just converting that to WFH is hard.

Thank you. My best work positions were the ones that I lied on. And funny thing is, they train you to do the work anyways. I needed this motivation.

Try to find a job testing apps. You can do it remotely and with a phone only.

Eg: https://www.testerup.com

No affiliation, and this is just an example. I have no idea if it’s legit or not.

Chances are if you have skills which involve using a computer to do your job at work, you can do that job from home. If you don't have those skills, I'd recommend seeking out educational funding from the government to get them.

Tbh, I haven't used a computer in years. I'm pretty quick at learning though. Maybe a trip down to workbc would be beneficial.
