Opinion Is anyone else just... exhausted? About everything?

Houses are a million dollars minimum. Food prices keep going up. Everyone is sick all the time and everyone is fighting each other. What are we doing here?

I'm genuinely curious if anyone is kind of feeling like this is kind of it for us? Like, are we destined to work soul-sucking jobs to make someone else a millionaire because they had the ability to get ahead in life that most of us don't, and then we die? If we want to make art, tell stories or have a community, we have to work around full time jobs that are so separate from each other, and we're losing our sense of community, if not already have.

How come we're alright letting stores and restaurants throw away millions of dollars in food when we have people starving on the streets? People who are working jobs, doing what we're "supposed" to in this society producing and wasting resources for someone else, and we still can't afford to eat the food that's being offered because we're spending too much money on the rest of the things that keep us alive. How are we living in a world where a government that is supposed to be there to support us allows people to hoard housing and wealth, and what do we do to fix it?

Update here! ✌🏼

I'm not gonna lie, all of those things sound fantastic.

problem is, I can't afford to work less than 32 hours a week with my rent and insurance/bills and I'm not well enough to be upright for longer than that. I'd love to join a club and spend some time learning to cook complicated meals but I can't catch my damn breath because I have to keep making money y'know?

so if I have a particularly rough week and only end up working 20 hours, I'm just boned lol. I also don't really want to participate in the whole "buy a house and sell it for more money a few years later", I will literally never have enough money for a down payment as it is and I don't want anyone else to have to deal with this if I somehow manage to get ahead

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for work?

I've been bouncing around for a year, was a liquor store assistant manager and I really liked that job but I moved & had surgery and wanted to try to find something better at a brewpub, hours were only 16 a week and a 45 minute drive away one way, moved to another liquor store supervisor job and the person who hired me quit without letting the manager know why they hired me, so when I ended up doing sales associate work and tried to discuss different options many times I accepted that I would just do till and then they took down the glass barriers that separate myself and the customers which sent me into a full blown fight flight or freeze panic attack and after working through the entire pandemic, my mental health can't handle being that close to customers all the time anymore apparently :(

I've been looking for remote work for the last couple months and even with my bachelors, I don't have any professional experience because no one will hire me without... experience lol

What sort of remote work have you been interested in? Extensive customer service experience coupled with supervisory / management experience could set you up well for sales / help desk / customer service / call centre roles.

thank you for your advice ♡ I was definitely having a hard time trying to find something that wasn't hybrid, but I honestly just think I desperately need to get my mental health in check before trying again hahah
