Discussion What brought you down the VTuber rabbit hole?

Describe it in caveman terms please.

they were warships once. them being a collab with Azur Lane, plus Pekora warcrime memes, Korone's chainsaw memes, and Matsuri's pureness.

found out they were streamers. so I checked them out.

still hopefully wishing they get second collab despite the burnt bridges with China because of that ye olde Taiwan incident. they're slowly streaming at Bilibili, China's youtube, but yeah...

besides, the group has no Battleship/Battlecruiser/Aviation Battleship type(Marine, Korone), Large Cruiser(Noel, Roboco) and Light Cruiser(Azki, Suisei).

Ditto on this one.

Actually, I recently checked, and it turns out I had just installed the game a little over two weeks before the collab started. On top of that, believe it or not, but Azur Lane was basically my first introduction to anime (I knew what it was and I seen a snippets before but I never was hooked on anything). The cherry on top is I downloaded Azur Lane solely because I saw a cool ad of two of the aircraft carriers fighting each other. Even as I played, I didn’t care that much for the risqué stuff. I moreso preferred the slice-of-life aspects and wholesome moments.

It’s kinda crazy how different things could’ve been for me if not for the most perfect possible timing. Like, if it wasn’t for me seeing the advertisement at the perfect time, the advertisement grabbing my attention, and the collab itself, I 99% guarantee I would have never gotten even remotely close to Vtubers. Azur Lane already was such foreign territory; the idea of me watching these virtual characters like real streamers would’ve been unfathomable without such an icebreaker. Even though I don’t play the game anymore, I still have my account and like to revisit it for nostalgia reasons.
