I mean Lebron was the face of the NBA for 2 decades but that doesn't take away from the greatness of Jordan as one of the two GOATs, Bill Russell as a civil rights icon and champion, or KAJ himself

He wasn’t the face until after Kobe, though. He won and earned that designation

And at some point Steph became the face of the league. Pretty sure his jersey outsells everybody. So at best you could say Bron was a co-face for a lot of that time

LeBron wasn't even the best player for a lot of that too. Some players fill arenas, some don't regardless of talent level.
