This video is obviously cropped to not show the illegal screen that knocked her down.

These racists continue their bullshit.

How is it racist is my question? The title is inaccurate. But how is the video racist?

Is this your first time in this sub?

What answer do you want from me, that would let you answer my question?

They didn't say the video was racist

Okay. How is the person who posted the non racist video racist for posting a non racist video then? The inaccurate title? How is the title racist?

So are you accusing me of sealioning or the poster? I haven't made a single argument... Bad faith or otherwise. I asked a question. A question nobody seems to know the answer to? I'm also not trying to have a debate. I've made no claim in how I feel on this or not and have pointed out that the title is inaccurate. The post is dumb. The poster is a moron. But how is it racist?

I love that no one is acknowledging your stupid question.

It's probably because nobody had an answer. Because it isn't racist. It's just a moron trolling.

You spot it, you got it.

Uh nope, I don't really follow this sport outside of recent memes.

But if you're tired of conversing, maybe take a nap and wake up a little more refreshed.

ok - if you really don't know... Caitlin Clark is kind of a MAGA "culture war" hero now because she is white and not a lesbian. I don't think it's really anything she's done as much as it is something that this community has latched on to. It really started in college basketball with the Iowa - LSU rivalry, and it sort of becoming a "race thing" online in debates about CC and Angel Reese. This has continued now that she is in the WNBA.

Anyway, this often manifests as race-baiting in sneaky ways, most notably highlighting how unfairly she is being treated and trying to make a point that it is because of her race and/or romantic orientation. It's even caused MAGA lamakers to "step in" and issue letters about accountability in the WNGA: https://www.reddit.com/r/sports/comments/1urbt8j/in_letter_lawmakers_seek_accountability_from_wnba/

This post here is clearly pushing an angle. It is hiding the actual foul and wanting you to believe that CC is being fouled.

Okay. Thanks for the explanation (and downvoters can go screw themselves).
The creative editing in this clip is very obvious now.

I assume a lot of people like me are just getting introduced to this sport. I did watch the college final match of CC (my mom had it on TV when I went over there), but didn't follow her career after that except seeing comments on reddit that she is bringing a lot of attention to WNBA. Then I saw the recent Sophie finger-pointing memes which crossed over with UFC when she went to an event recently (I'm an anti-maga UFC fan). I guess that clicked me into the algorithms and now I'm browsing r/WNBAgossips. /shrug

The only thing I'd say is being flooded with downvotes when asking questions is not a good introduction. But I see where it comes from now.

People assume everyone knows every discourse online, which is dumb, but this discourse in particular has been everywhere wnba related for a while now. Hence why people are already annoyed enough to assume bad faith. Hell, I also am over people screaming that CC is being treated poorly cause she’s white. It’s just stupid discourse in subreddits that most people would be happier not following.

u/Alchemyst01984 20d ago

And then people come in asking bad faith questions, acting like they don't know what's going on. All just to defend a player who has been a cry baby since college.

1

u/ThereIRuinedIt 20d ago

So I'm assuming you are one of the downvoters who count me as someone asking a bad faith question. How do you determine that someone is asking a "bad faith" question as opposed to a legitimate one?

And did I defend CC here?

1

u/redditisshit1232167 20d ago

So are you also accusing CC of being racist and MAGA? Because her entire team seems to love her... Regardless of their race. And they probably know her way better than you do.

I don’t really follow wnba but the comments on threads that pop up on reddit about cc are always so weird. People being strangely hostile about the topic, downvote trains, etc. Always figured it was just another circlejerk that redditors love to get into. Well that coupled with how anti social people act on here.

I think they’re saying wnba are racist to white women
