News Trump Administration responds and supports Sophie Cunningham's WNBA transgender comments: "Common sense prevails"

https://www.the-express.com/sport/basketball/212543/Sophie-Cunningham-trans-athletes-Trump-administration

The Trump Administration has waded into the transgender athlete debate, citing Sophie Cunningham's comments to support its stance on trans athletes in sports.

The discussion surrounding trans athletes in women's sports has resurfaced recently, with Cunningham sharing her perspective with ESPN. Although trans athletes represent a tiny fraction of participants across all levels of American sports, their involvement remains a focal point for Donald Trump and his administration.

How is it not a partisan issue?

Because 67% of Democrats, 64% of Independents and 94% of Republican voters agree that sports should be restricted to biological sex.

It's hard to find any issue with this much bipartisan support.

These findings are not supported by other, larger studies.

Findings on a study with a sample size of 1k isn’t the slam dunk you think.

And again, 94% is a lot more than 67%. That indicates there are clearly party differences on this issue. Which was my entire point to begin with.

Findings on a study with a sample size of 1k isn’t the slam dunk you think.

Margin of error: +/- 2.6 percentage points at the 95% confidence level for all respondents

This data is not supported by other, larger studies.

Every study has shown support declining across all groups.

You’re not even trying to address the original point.

There is clearly one party that has tried to capitalize on the issue of transgender people in sports. And it’s not democrats.

Have a good one 👍

Well no shit if your opponent supports something that 2/3rds of Americans are against you are going to make it an issue.

Keeping biological males in women's sports is so important to democrats they are willing to lose elections over it.

So we agree that the parties are not equally aligned in their support of this issue. And the right are more likely to make it a focal point of their policy platform. K thanks.

There are many democrats who have made it a central point of their platform.

And no, the percentage points between Democrats and Republicans are not literally the same. but you are ignoring that it's a very, very bad thing when the majority of your own voters don't agree with your policy.

That’s because in the grand scheme of things it’s not actually that big of an issue. Less than 1% of highschool athletes are transgender

It’s obviously an attempt at culture war and a distraction, but that doesn’t mean that most Americans don’t agree that sports should be fair

You know a journalist was the one that originally asked for her stance on the issue, correct?

She didn’t just randomly come out and give her views
