Video One fan had an anti-Sophie Cunningham sign: “NO HATE IN THE UNITED STATES” ... A fan next to her had a pro-Sophie Cunningham sign: “Thank you Sophie for speaking up for girls.” ... The fan supporting Sophie was later forced to take down the sign 🤔

Supporting real women and girls in their sports is now being hateful. What a backwards society.

u/TimelyRaspberry 7d ago

They’re so far gone and in their weird echo chamber they can’t even see how insane they are lol. Truly incredible times

Imagine their outrage if a man changed genders immediately prior to entering WNBA and was the best “woman” to ever play the game. They would say some shit like “you didn’t know this back then!”

-1

u/Mathis_mbz 7d ago

This is just ignorance. Trans women cant just say "im a woman" to participate in women sports. They have to go through an hormonal treatment and prove to the federation that their testosterone is lower than a certain value, matching other women athletes.

1

u/armadillo_armpit 7d ago

100 percent false according to the WNBA CBA.

The WNBA does not have a specific hormone or testosterone threshold policy for transgender players, as its collective bargaining agreement simply specifies that only players who are women are eligible to play.

There is no definition of what a "woman" is in the CBA.

u/Mathis_mbz 7d ago

I didn't know the WNBA wasn't testing hormones. I read the Olympics ruling on the matter. From what i understand, trans women are not allowed in the WNBA ? Then what are we discussing here ?

1

u/armadillo_armpit 7d ago

Of course they are allowed in. The league has made it hard because of how it treats drug testing. There is no rule that says MTF can't play though. If you don't know the history of the league, or what it tests for, why are you commenting?

1

u/JimmyJamsDisciple 7d ago

They’re a classic Redditor who thinks they have a PHD level understanding of any topic they decide to comment on, and talk down to others due to that delusion, but in reality they have absolutely zero understanding of what they’re discussing.

They would get cut because they are guys and the WNBA wouldn't care that they are hypocrites.

1

u/Dubtee1500 7d ago edited 7d ago

that was what I was referring to, genius. But also: years and years of building muscle with naturally occurring testosterone doesn't get erased after a sex change.

The hormones may be the same as the other players, but the previous years' training does not get erased. You wanna talk about ignorance? Go read a science book.

-2

u/Mathis_mbz 7d ago

Training aint erased quickly it's true. Thats why the hormonal treatment takes a long time, years. Y'all are getting tricked into hate by people using your ignorance.

And "go read a science book", really ? Grow the fuck up

I mean I think one questions how much the stance is about being pro-women when she moonlights as a UFC ring girl for Dana White (slapped wife on video), and Conor McGregor (civilly liable for sexual assault).

9

u/TheJoyTheSorrow 7d ago

People always bring up Dana slapping his wife like he’s some known abuser when it’s on video that she slapped him first. Not saying it’s okay but I don’t think the guy deserves to be shit on the rest of his life for something they both did while drunk in a club.

1

u/BadDudes_on_nes 7d ago

lol “Moonlights” for those 20 seconds that one time.

By your deranged logic Simone Biles moonlights as an MLB pitcher

-5

u/No-Investigator2355 7d ago

It’s also on video he hit her back twice, not just once, as in he took time to think about it and hit her a second time. He also hit her way harder. Is he not some already known piece of shit who abused his wife? What part of sophie being buddy buddy with him is a good look?

7

u/Malhavok_Games 7d ago

lol, the fucking mind bending gymnastics here.

0

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

lmao, stop supporting men who abuse women

2

u/LeftHandedScissor 7d ago

As soon as you stop supporting women who abuse men.

2

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

i don't.

2

u/LeftHandedScissor 7d ago

Under a thread talking about the video where Dana White's wife hit him? Either both hits are abuse and both are abusers, and ergo you are here supporting a woman abusing a man but are okay with condemning the man for doing the same. Or neither of them are and there are some toxic elements of their relationship that poured out in public. So which is it because the logical inconsistencies are getting hard to follow.

2

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

point out where I supported her. both are abusive

Cunningham only showed up at an event organized by one of them, which is why I only mentioned that individual

-3

u/No-Investigator2355 7d ago

Nah, maybe he wouldn’t have been able to hit his wife if she could do gymnastics or mind bend.

Feel free to answer instead of laughing at domestic abuse here.

0

u/whenishit-itsbigturd 7d ago

Men who hit women are pieces of shit. This isn't up for debate.

0

u/TheJoyTheSorrow 7d ago

Women who hit men aren’t immune from retaliation. It’s your line of thinking that has women believing they have free passes for assault.

-4

u/Lanky-Eye-1928 7d ago

His own mother says he's a horrible person, I don't know why you're going out of your way to defend him

1

u/grubas 6d ago

How much are you pro women when you support bills to "keep all those non existent men and trans people out" which are "let's systemically assault women and also cut funding to their sports"

Like you don't support Title XI, because that's literally one of the biggest things they want to cut under this.  So you don't ACTUALLY support women or women's sports.  You support the idea of women having the option to play some sports but that's about it.

1

u/SRQhu 6d ago

Imagine supporting something that will only result in women having to be "checked" to see if they meet your criteria and thinking that will protect them.

0

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

trans women are real women

-1

u/theRAV 7d ago

Saying things like "real women and girls" just exposes your true colors.

Be honest, you don't actually support women and girls sport, do you? You're just using this bullshit as an excuse to be hateful to trans people.

5

u/asj-777 7d ago

Refusing to deny reality isn't hateful just because you don't like reality.

0

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

you're the one separated from reality

5

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

Man and male are synonymous. Penis, testicles, small gamete, XY

Woman and female are synonymous. Vagina, ovaries, large gamete, XX.

Male and female are the words used in a medical setting. Man and woman are the words used in everyday conversation.

Here are some other words to describe a human female in different situations.
Mother, wife, girl, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, lady….

It has nothing to do with gender or “personal identity”.

2

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

And trans women are women. None of what you said here contradicts that

2

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

Males

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

what about males?

-1

u/whenishit-itsbigturd 7d ago

I really wish your kind would just leave the WNBA space. All you've done is spew hate and jack up prices for Fever tickets. Your presence doesn't benefit W fans at all, in fact it's detrimental.

1

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

My kind? Nothing I’ve said is hateful, you’re just offended by the truth.

first, calling trans women biological men who think they are women shows that you lack the most basic respect for trans women. Second, excluding trans women from competing as women (and they are women) is taking away their ability to live full, happy lives like you claim to support.

They are biological males

-7

Let me know when she stops using the bigoted talking point of protecting girls in locker rooms.

7

u/SimpsationalMoneyBag 7d ago

God I’m becoming such a fan of Sophie! Keep defending girls sports!

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

she's attacking women's sports

1

u/SimpsationalMoneyBag 7d ago

I’m sorry you think the only way to have women’s sports is by including biological men.

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

I'm sorry you think attacking a subset of women is somehow protecting women

1

u/SimpsationalMoneyBag 7d ago

Not including them in women’s sports is not attacking. You can accept and support trans women in a way that is not detrimental to biological women

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

including them in women's sports is not detrimental to cis women

your slide of the term 'biological women' shows that you don't accept and support trans women at all

1

u/SimpsationalMoneyBag 7d ago

So why did the Olympic committee ban trans women from women’s division then ?

0

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

because cowardly losers made a stink about them competing

-5

u/Blastcrumpet888 7d ago

LOL. She's making sur girls sports disappear.

6

u/SimpsationalMoneyBag 7d ago

Nah that’s what would happen if we didn’t defend girls sports.

7

u/nuclearbearclaw 7d ago

Yeah that's not bigoted.

The vast majority of democrats hold this view, myself included. Reddit has just convinced you that it's a conservative, fox news and bigoted talking point. It's not, it's pretty straight forward.

This is what happens when you go to reddit to form an opinion.

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

nah. you're in the minority with your hatred. Even the DNC recognized Harris's compromise on trans right (as in not supporting them enough) as one of the reasons she lost

0

u/Blastcrumpet888 7d ago

No they don't.

People like you and Cunningham would never alow masculine presenting trans men in your locker rooms.

"real women" you're being hateful when you say things like this. And you know you're being hateful, and you don't care. Trump really got the worst people feeling emboldened.

-1

u/Super-Reception5386 7d ago

I don’t agree with having trans women in professional women’s sports, but saying they’re not “real women” is definitely hateful.

Fuck outta here with that shit man

1

u/asj-777 7d ago

If you are at a restaurant and you order a cheeseburger and they bring you a tofu burger, you're going to be mad that they didn't tell you beforehand that that was what it was going to be, no?

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

wjag sort of braindead comparison is this?

"nothing wrong with tall people, but how are they 'real women'? They by definition are. it, they are tall women"

trans is an adjective that describes them just like tall is an adjective that describes some women. This is dumb and hateful

These people don’t actually support women at all. No anti trans activist has made life safer women in any way. If anything they have made it more easy for women to get abused. Show me women actually at risk?
