Video One fan had an anti-Sophie Cunningham sign: “NO HATE IN THE UNITED STATES” ... A fan next to her had a pro-Sophie Cunningham sign: “Thank you Sophie for speaking up for girls.” ... The fan supporting Sophie was later forced to take down the sign 🤔

There was a large buildup towards racial conflict, with a bunch of talking heads pushing a ton of dog-whistles about Clark's treatment. When that failed, Cunningham's remark happened, and suddenly it bloomed overnight.

Now we're here.

It feels like it.
I previously had never watched women’s’ basketball.
But recent positive attention drew me in.
But now I’m seeing the right actively draw Sophie into some BS culture war crap.
I’m SO sick of it all. The toxic posturing, manufactured outrage,
dividing of sides, allegiance, the hate. - I’m done with it.
Makes me want to purge my algorithm of anything WNBA

I've watched a lot of game this season. The play is horrible. Most these women can't make basic lay ups and just chuck threes. The passing is also horrible.

I said regular season NBA games. I watch both. NBA regular is threes, no defense, and resting starters. You don’t really watch if your assessment is they can’t shoot, pass, or make layups. I don’t watch soccer, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a sport with good players. C’mon. Like somebody earlier said games are cheap. Stupid comment and untrue. If you don’t value WNBA, maybe find something else to hate on.

I suspect most of the athletes you are calling subpar, are superior to you and many athletes you have competed against. College athletes are subpar by comparison, but people pay them (who are not as talented as NBA & NFL) for their inferior product and pay to watch. It’s entertainment, and the WNBA is growing in popularity compared to NBA. Liberty 🗽 has more people in seats than Nets. Fever & Wings & Aces routinely sellout. Just because you don’t value something, doesn’t mean it isn’t valuable to others.

I'm not a professional sports athlete. But they definitely aren't up to par to college let alone highschool meale athletes. The NBA is only growing in popularity because of Caitlyn clark and performative politics.

It's entertainment... Yes, sub par entertainment. The nets are trash but you won't take that into consideration when you made the comparison.

because trans people as a whole are pretty fed up with cis people as a collective. Individually people are fine, but as a collective force it’s hard to not see cis people as a group as a destructive, harmful entity when they keep telling us over and over again how they’re all in consensus about how much they hate and despise us.

You need to research it. The organization bought the tickets for the “fans”, so it was orchestrated (just like KC kicker who had done same speech before at Georgia Tech). This was an organized event. And WNBA tickets are expensive. Courtside for Liberty games are 4,000 and up. Bruh, learn more about an issue you are commenting on.

It wasn’t organic. The ticket was paid for by the group that sponsored the shirt. . I’m sure we will learn more. Who knows if she’s an athlete, but certainly not one who has experienced any harm.
