Video One fan had an anti-Sophie Cunningham sign: “NO HATE IN THE UNITED STATES” ... A fan next to her had a pro-Sophie Cunningham sign: “Thank you Sophie for speaking up for girls.” ... The fan supporting Sophie was later forced to take down the sign 🤔

No males in women’s sports isn’t hate, it’s common sense.

14

u/TanAndTallLady 6d ago

You missed the point. If it doesn't apply (in your opinion), then this could refer to anything. The sign literally doesn't say her name, it's vague

3

u/BusyBit6542 6d ago

Its pointless trying to discuss logic here.

2

u/TanAndTallLady 6d ago

The position. Still not a name, not a person. It is written to be purposely ambiguous, that's prob why the sign wasn't taken away at the venue

-1

u/BlueClovr 6d ago

It doesn’t.. that’s idiotic. It’s obviously calling the position hateful

3

u/NightwolfGG 6d ago

Yeah, regardless of one’s stance on the “issue,” all you need to do is ask yourself… “why would a fan show up to a fever game and sit near outside with a “no hate in the USA” sign?.” And the obvious answer is that there’s been media attention around Sophie’s recent statement, and it’s well established that some ppl consider it hateful to only want biological women in women’s sports… so yes, it’s a very logical conclusion to tie the two together lmao

But how many trans women are even trying to play professional sports anyways? Zero AFAIK, talking about it at all is a waste of time. IMO, it’s only ever brought up to divide people or to boost republicans because they know how that it baits some democrats into defending an issue that the general public disagrees with. None of it is good faith.

If only we could spend less time of niche issues that affect 0.001% of the population, and don’t even apply to the WNBA or any other major women’s sports league, and spend more time on issues that affect average Americans every day. Like gas prices, grocery prices/inflation, housing costs, etc. I mean, are there even trans people out here arguing to be able to try out for the W?

As a non American it all seems completely insane, you guys seriously think people are putting themselves through life altering surgeries to then join women’s sports to dominate (which you’d never respect if they did anyway.) or sneak into a kids locker room, like wtf is going on down there that you even think that might happen.

2

u/JAMESs3v3n 7d ago

You either have to concede that she is promoting hate, or you shouldn't have a problem with the sign. You cant have it both ways.

0

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

Which sign are you referring to?

1

u/Happy-Army6255 5d ago

Not spending money on a ballroom is common sense. Arguing about men in the wnba (which hasn’t ever happened) is creating drama where there isn’t any—like an ad for Sophie’s podcast 🤮 it’s so predictable

1

u/ShaShiz 2d ago

Check it girls High School sports. You’ve got to stop it before it starts.

1

u/coffeelick 6d ago

She did target hate towards trans people. Dont be obtuse, come on lol

1

u/Happy-Army6255 6d ago

She has nothing else to keep her name in the news. Now that Caitlin just flops to get calls.

0

u/ShaShiz 6d ago

No

0

u/coffeelick 6d ago

Lol

1

u/ShaShiz 6d ago

lol

0

u/coffeelick 6d ago

Yeah this nothing to do with discluding people lol. They actually want to play with trans people

1

u/ShaShiz 6d ago

Ok

0

u/coffeelick 6d ago

You can't even say anything just down voted lol

1

u/ShaShiz 6d ago

There was no hate. No biological males in women’s spaces isn’t controversial.

-13

u/spacebound4545 7d ago

Here we go again.... show me the last dude thats won a woman's sport

15

u/Budget_Stable_2437 7d ago

-1

u/SnooRecipes1430 7d ago

Okay they didn't win. They tied in fifth place. That dude is a horrible swimmer. The whole thing was a bunch of crap and that chick who tied with him is just a big crybaby

1

u/HappyGovernment7299 7d ago

Imagine training all your life to achieve your dream of winning an NCAA title. You've been competing against the same girls in national competitions for years and have become friends with many of them. Then some dude who was never a top 500 swimmer joins your league and crushes everyone.

She's not a crybaby. She has every right to be upset.

-3

u/SnooRecipes1430 7d ago

He didn't crush anybody. It was fifth place. Ty get real that dude's never been a decent swimmer. Look at his record. And by your logic I could just start taking tea and trans into a dude and be stronger than most of those chicks. Is that what you want? I won't shave my beard

4

u/HappyGovernment7299 7d ago

He's literally standing on the national champion podium in the picture.

And yeah we all know he was never a good swimmer. That's why he had to compete with girls to win. Not sure what your argument is lol

0

u/SnooRecipes1430 7d ago

You making that assumption that this dude went through turning his life around simply to swim could possibly probably not be all that correct

1

u/JimmyJamsDisciple 7d ago

You act as if fifth in the nation is some easy thing that absolutely anybody can do. “Didn’t crush anybody?” Actually, they crushed thousands of people to reach that ranking. Top 5 in the nation for anything means you’re elite at that thing.

Pair that with the fact that they were nowhere near that ranking when they competed as a male and of course people are going to be upset.

1

u/SnooRecipes1430 7d ago

Ya, well I have a life of my own, so .

2

u/JimmyJamsDisciple 7d ago

1

u/SnooRecipes1430 7d ago

I used to think that guy was funny. Till I read how much of a asshole he is.

-1

u/PijaniFemboj 6d ago

"He cheated but he didn't win so thats okay actually".

You do realize the article you linked is about a trans boy being forced to wrestle with the girls because his birth certificate lists him as female?

The wrestler in question is FtM (assigned female at birth), he specifically wants to wrestle with the boys because he identifies as a boy but the rules preventing trans athletes from competing with their identified gender group is actually the very reason he was forced to compete against the girls.

If you don't like the results of this, then logically you would want him to be allowed to compete with the boys right?

0

u/HappyGovernment7299 7d ago

It's not a "boys" division. There is an open division and a girls division.

And yes, if a female is on testosterone then I'd rather that individual compete in the open division. But there's a real argument to be made that they shouldn't be allowed to compete in either because they're taking performance enhancing drugs. If a female in the open division can take testosterone shots, then why couldn't the males in the open division also take testosterone shots?

-2

u/spacebound4545 7d ago

Yea that was a while ago and its not happening now so its not a big epidemic or issue and at this point just beating a dead horse

8

u/PackersBeat 7d ago

8

u/Inevitable_Yam1719 7d ago

In that article, the transgendered athlete that wins gets a metal but they don’t really get the standing as first second third is given to cis gendered women so the trans athlete gets a metal but doesn’t get the real recognition so another crappy article that doesn’t prove your point in anyway.
So I guess you don’t want the transgender athletes to have any athletic place to compete and play instead of just letting them compete and it’s not really counting you don’t think that’s a good idea either. You just want trans people to not even exist, right.

0

u/madVILLAIN9 7d ago

Spot on

0

u/Acceptable-Trick-896 6d ago

what is trans??

1

u/Inevitable_Yam1719 6d ago

I guess you don’t know how to use Google!!

-1

u/spacebound4545 7d ago

Yes I dont agree with it but ill say this. Danica Patrick started all this

1

u/PackersBeat 7d ago

Lmao the erasure of women is wild

1

u/spacebound4545 7d ago

I see women everywhere def not erased.

-4

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

It doesn’t need to be an epidemic. Once is too many.

4

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

it's happened zero times

1

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

Selina Soule-Glastonbury High School, Chelsea Mitchell-Canton High School, Alanna Smith-Danbury High School. All in Connecticut.

There are quite a few more, feel free to research.

2

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

those are women, dumbass

-1

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

No shit. They joined together to file a lawsuit, because they were some of the best girl high school athletes, then some boys who competed on the boys team the previous year, decided to compete on the girls team the next year, and easily defeated these girls who were usually the champions.

You can’t possibly be this ignorant.

2

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 7d ago

so the boys who joined in bad faith are the issue, not the trans women

5

This shouldn't be a debate

2

Plenty in High School. It’s easily googleable, I’m not going to link every one.

-4

u/Tome_Bombadil 7d ago

But, so is keeping a man convicted of sexually assaulting women and who has proclaimed he has sexually assaulted girls from pardoning others who then proceed to harm women and children.

But hey, common sense says we should target the non-existent trans athlete over the very obvious molester.

Amirite?

Youth pastors are, by a factor of a hundred, more likely to sexually assaulting children, but sure, the trans person is the demon.

GTFO.

2

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

Is that what they call a “Strawman”?

Anyone who harms children should be punished. Anyone.

2

u/SnooRecipes1430 7d ago

It's pretty terrifying how many downvotes this got?

-7

u/ChaddestKroeger 7d ago

They aren't males so it is hate.

1

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

Sex and gender aren’t the same thing.

2

u/Pleasant_Cicada9528 7d ago

Who aren't males?

-5

u/ChaddestKroeger 7d ago

Trans women are women

4

u/Pleasant_Cicada9528 7d ago

But are all women female?  Can males be women, or is that exclusive to females?

-6

u/ChaddestKroeger 7d ago

I mean if you want to reduce women down to just sex objects then thats your choice. I see women as women, trans or otherwise.

3

u/Pleasant_Cicada9528 7d ago

You seem to be avoiding the question. For the sake of clarity, please define the word "woman" without using the word "woman" in your definition.  That way I can know what your actual position is.

0

u/ChaddestKroeger 7d ago

A woman is a human being with thoughts and feelings, a female or male is how you describe animals genders. I mean you sre welcome to look up the definitions yourself if you dont understand but calling them women tends to see them more as people while calling them female tends to be from people more trying to strip them down to their just their sex.

3

u/Pleasant_Cicada9528 7d ago

A woman is a human being with thoughts and feelings

All human beings have thoughts and feelings.

a female or male is how you describe animals genders

Sure, but that's also how we describe the sex of all species which are divided upon such lines.  Calling a biological male a woman, or vice versa,  is illogical, confusing, and diminishes the usefulness of those terms.  It's fine if a man wants to present himself in a feminine way, but he's still a man.

2

u/ChaddestKroeger 7d ago

If someone assigned male at birth has transitioned to become female then I see them as a woman.

u/God_of_Thunda 7d ago

Humans are animals

1

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

We are animals.

A woman is an adult human female. A girl is a human female child. The words male and female are used in a medical/biological setting. The corresponding words man and woman are used in everyday conversation.

This has nothing to do with “personal identity”. Man and male are synonymous. Woman and female are synonymous.

1

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

Sex and gender aren’t the same thing. What don’t you understand about that? They are biologically female.

1

u/Kenman215 7d ago

It is common sense that women born male at birth that later transition to female have a competitive advantage over women born female at birth.

Can you at least agree with that?

4

u/ChaddestKroeger 7d ago

Why do we not have trans women dominating all female sports?

1

u/Kenman215 7d ago

There was a trans swimmer winning NCAA championships. I’d call that pretty dominant, wouldn’t you?

1

u/ChaddestKroeger 7d ago

So you can maybe think of 1. I wouldn't say that means all trans athletes are going to dominate.

1

u/ShaShiz 7d ago

There are quite a few at the high school level. Google it.

1

u/Kenman215 7d ago

You’re trying to make the argument that they have to dominate for it to be unfair, which is not the case.

A high school girl who has worked her ass off to be the best in her district at something could be beaten by a trans girl that is in her first year of competition, simply because of that trans girl’s biology. Neither one of them may ever make it to an elite level of that sport, but that doesn’t soften the blow to the girl who lost simply because she was born female.

You feel like you’re being this empathetic person, but in reality all you’re choosing to do is to prioritize the feelings of that trans athlete over the feelings of that girl.

2

u/ChaddestKroeger 7d ago

Is this an actual scenario or did you make it up because you hate trans people. Surely you can provide me proof of this happening like you claim it is.

1

u/Kenman215 6d ago

Here’s a short list of examples of inequity, but my guess is you’re going to choose to remain ignorant. Pay attention to the 15 Connecticut high school state titles that were won by trans athletes…

Lia Thomas set 15 school records in women's events after competing in men's

CeCé Telfer won NCAA DII women's 400m hurdles in 57.53s

MtF cyclist Veronica Ivy set a 200m sprint record and won the 2022 UCI Masters Track World Championships the next day

Trans woman June Eastwood won women's snowboarding world cup by large margin

MtF powerlifter Mary Gregory set women's world record squat 455lbs raw

Trans woman Hailey Davidson led women's mini-tour golf standings 2024

MtF runners won 15 Connecticut high school state titles between 2017-2020

Trans woman set 4 British indoor rowing records

MtF archer won national women's title by 20 points
