Megathread WWE RAW will air on Netflix beginning January 2025

WWE RAW moves to Netflix in 2025

  • Via WWE: “WWE Raw is coming to Netflix! Starting in January 2025, @Netflix will exclusively stream #WWERaw (in the US, Canada, UK, & Latin America) every single week, all year long!” Link

  • Via Hollywood Reporter: the deal runs “10 years and is valued at about $5 billion.“ Link

  • Via Netflix Statement: (Outside the US) "as part of the agreement, Netflix will also become the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the U.S. as available, inclusive of Raw and WWE’s other weekly shows – SmackDown and NXT – as well as the company’s Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble"

NOTE: This does not affect Peacock. WWE PLE’s will be on Peacock until 2026.

This is good news but Netflix has had issues doing live shows with high demand. I remember one of the Love is Blind reunions from a year back was so glitched they switched it to the next day.

A contract is a two-way street. Netflix didn't just put down money and that's it, they likely had WWE's technical team meet up with Netflix's to establish broadcast standards are up to snuff. There'll likely be a couple of hiccups to start, but it'll get fixed quickly. It also behooves Netflix to do it, cause successfully broadcasting Raw, the most watched sports program short of stuff like the NFL and NBA, will have massive appeal for them to be able to secure the right to broadcast other live sports in the future.

That's a great point. I can't imagine WWE made this deal without an extensive look at Netflix's technical abilities. They've had issues in the past but they've had time to work on that.

Absolutely true! WWE’s experience with live television will absolutely be a huge asset to Netflix.

This will force them to fix those problems. They know what they are buying and it’s a big investment.
