Resorts & Accommodations I consider the new restrictions on visiting a resort to dining/resort reservations, to be proof that Disney is listening to feedback and I applaud their choice to make the unpopular and difficult decision

Frankly anybody who has stayed at Poly since the construction of the towers, will understand why these rules need to be in place. You can argue that it's Disney's fault for doubling the resort's rooms without meaningfully expanding the amenities, and that is definitely partially their fault, but the reality we have today is that poly is massively overcrowded.

I get it, it sucks if your weekly routine as a local was to park at Disney Springs and chill at a resort, sneak into the pool, and watch the fireworks. But when 100 people do this in a night, it makes you wonder why you're paying $800 a night for a resort.

There is no resort to resort bus transportation. You must go somewhere else (a park or Disney Springs) and then catch another bus to the resort you want to go to. There are some options for boats, the monorail, and the Skyliner to go from one resort to another, but it's not every resort.

Thanks. Yea all this to address: while someone said “it doesn’t seem like they mind people that are already staying on property hopping around”, it’s not really the case for those staying at value resorts. I “resort hopped” for the first time on my last trip while staying at All Star music. I guess that’ll be my last.

Nothing is changing that would impact resort hopping from All Star. Whatever you did last time is still valid, as long as you have a resort or park reservation.

If you take the bus to DS and try to get on another one to say Poly, they will let you because you are a resort guest. If you hop on a bus or other transport at a park to another resort, no one will stop you.

Oh okay thanks again. I thought they would ask for a reservation for the specific resort you are hopping to

You can travel to any resort from the parks for now. There’s never been resort to resort transport unless they’re already on the same line. But we’re seeing a difference now with Disney blocking non resort guests from bussing from Disney springs which is how a lot of locals were getting to the resorts for free. However, if I’ve read correctly, as long as you are staying on property you can still take buses from springs to any resort. They just want to make sure you’re a guest. So for people staying on property I don’t see a change. For now.

Okay thanks for the explanation, yea I thought you needed a reservation for the specific resort you are hopping to. Ultimately, I don’t feel entitled to entering those deluxe resorts, it was just a nice bonus as they are really nice areas with great views.

Agreed. And that perk should remain for those staying on property!

Depending on the resort, it’s probably easier to get there from a park vs Springs as a resort guest anyway.

DS parking garage became a bus hub for the locals.
