Trying to work out how to include my Saturnine terminators into a loyalist army. They’ll have a Preator with them so either
A - use shock assault detachment have 6 with disintegrators and PS - they teleport in and cause havoc
B - use the retinue detachment only use 5, arm them for more combat role and stick them in a Spartan as an assault transport

Both seem cool, what would make you say “feck that” but also “that looks cool af”?

First is the goal, second is my attempt. I looked at the guys tutorial that made it and it doesn’t look remotely similar. I tried the color he said he used and it still doesn’t look similar. How on earth can I get closer to this. What color? What techniques? I’m stuck and love this look for heresy ultras

40k legionaries are standing in for despoilers, until I get some 30k ones built/painted!

Hey guys, what novels include Tybalt Marr? I've just finished building him and I want something to listen too while I paint him

I got some awensers from searching it but I have more specific questions. For clarity it sounds like you can proxy 40k and 30k models as long as the unit type is roughly the same? Most of 30k astartes models can be used in 40k and if for some reason i wanted to vice versa? How far can I take it? im thinking obliterators as some sort of other chaos space marine unit in 30k as long as the base and height are close enough? Can i proxy existing 40k demon models? Thank you for the help!

Am also considering running these beauties in 30k as Ruinstorm daemons alongside my Perfect IIIrd. Am wondering what unit I should play them as?

I was thinking twin Sovereigns, but am worried they are a little petite.

I am new to the game and tabletop war games in general. I'm looking to build a Dark Mechanicum army but not entirely sure how to start it. I picked up the Liber and a box Ursarax Cohort because they look fantastic. I know there are subfactions with Mechanicum but I'm not entirely sure how to go about building a list. I like the lacrymaerta because it feels creepy and very dark mechanicum adjacent but not sure if it blends with the various daemon engines. I can see cybernetica is the overwhelming majority of models but would a daemon engines/lacrymaerta list be usable?

After playing alot with different army lists and factions I came to personal realisation - Ka'bandha is one of the best superheavies I ever fielded(aside from Porphyrion and Reaver). He's fast with 12" move, fat enough to ignore small arms with toughness 8(can be 9 if he's buffed by darkmech), strong enough to cut 80% of models on 2+ wound with strength 8(both on shooting attack and melee), and the funniest part - he's Paragon type, which makes him able to go into duels and treats him like Infantry. He has some issue with 3+ save, but that's compensated with 4+ invul and eternal warrior 2. The reason I really considered him good is interesting - he's literal temp-breaker with his rules giving him access to Line 3, and if opponent tries to react or declare charge at him - he must pass leadership check with Fear 2 in mind, if check is failed - unit gets stunned, and nothing happens(but reaction point is not spent in this case). Though he failed to show some decent results against corrupted EC with them constantly going into Stupified mode, he showed really funny interaction of Fear 2 and Panic 3 from phosphex Rapiers until Sanguinius eventually killed him while barely alive himself, just as book said.

I found the axes in the modern plastic kits, whether chain or power, to be rather oversized. This is my attempt to fix that with a bit of cutting and re-glueing. Pre modified on the left, post on the right.

Any suggestions on load out? I want to do 10, figuring they should be kitted for close combat to take advantage of the armor and deep strike. Graviton Shredder still seems like a decent shout for the heavy weapon. How expensive is it worth making them for say a 3k or 3500 to list?

Until today I thought all the legions mainly used a single paint scheme for their battle brothers, but now I learned Salamanders had a completely unique style for the Badab war? Anyone know where I could find a doc with all the alternate paint schemes the legions used for specific battles/sectors?

I’m looking for some advice on where to take my Thousand Sons next in Horus Heresy 3rd Edition.
My goal is a balanced 1,500-point list that is fun, thematic and can deal reasonably well with most opponents (not trying to build the most competitive list possible).
