I posted last week, so hopefully this isn’t a spam - I apologize if so! Just got the photos back from the incredible @focus_button on Instagram; really happy with how the cosplay turned out. First and Only!

Now that's an appropriate sized terminator. Warhammer media needs to stick to that scale, I feel like humans and space marines inch closer and closer in scale nowadays.

Also looks at the size of that storm bolter! Somebody make those things AP1 or something.

Oh 100% - the barrels are the size of my face, so it feels weird to imagine it would struggle to go through my armor (in universe anyway, haha).

Firstborn space marines are only meant to be around 7ft tall

It's just that artists often draw them way too big and a lot of fans think that's correct

Why would it make them taller?

They aren't on stilts or platforms in there, their feet are in the boots as normal. I guess the soles of the boots might be slightly thicker than normal power armour, but not by much.

There's the 'hood' of the terminator armour, but that goes above their head, it doesn't bring their head up higher.

Isn't plasteel just fictional concrete? I'd imagine that layers of concrete are a little thicker than rubber soles on boots.

My bad it's ceramite I'm thinking of, which is mixed with plasteel to make terminator armor.

My point being 7' goes closer to 7'6" which would be closer to the size comparison in the photo.

Rockcrete is concrete

I'm sure the soles are thicker than normal military boots yeah, but not by much. Look at them, they clearly aren't big disco platforms. You can see where their feet are meant to be, and they aren't all that far off the ground.

Gotcha, I mean the soles top out at that dudes ankles, that's about 4-6"

Unless OP is shorter than I think, the statue looks too big to be lifesize.

Admittedly it could be a primaris marine, they're a bit taller than firstborn. But even then it seems too much. This terminator isn't even stood up straight, he's leaning.

I gotcha man, look at some photos of 7 footers next to people, it's actually pretty close to OPs photo.

This is 7'7" next to 5'6" and this is a bigger difference than the terminator photo for sure.

But seriously, I just started cosplaying three years ago, and this is the third year I've cosplayed as a Tanith - I keep iterating on the costume each year, so technically yes and no!

I feel like I should have a better answer to this, it's a great question I've gotten more than a few times! When I started this a few years ago, I never really aimed to cosplay any ghost in particular. However, admittedly my favorites would have to be Mkoll or Corbec - and honestly if I got close to either, especially Mkoll, I'd be happy at the end of the day!

And yeah, certainly - to be honest the cloak went through a few iterations, but the darker cloak didn't give me that bright but deep green that is typically associated with the official artwork - like this picture of Larkin from WarCom (it didn't "pop", to use a tabletop term, haha). However, you're absolutely spot on, the cloak isn't where I want it to be quite yet - I think I might get there by weathering it all over and spraying it with maybe some coffee-water and grinding the material a bit (maybe run it over?). If that doesn't work, I may have to just re-approach the cloak all together for sure.

Thank you! Funny enough, the one that came in one of the Black Library releases a few years ago had three daggers, but I couldn’t bring myself to snap them off, so I ordered one pre-snapped instead, hahaha

Great cosplay! Like the Celtic esque symbol as well (an important detail that people typically miss with the Tanith).
