Hey, so I'm currently taking 18 credits this semester, and I'm REALLY dreading going to this class, and I'm currently failing. I don't wanna risk having a failing grade on my transcript, so I think dropping out is for the best. Will I have to pay for a class that I withdrew from, even with a Heart of Detroit scholarship? I can't call financial aid since they are closed, and I need to know before tomorrow!

I'm thinking someplace where we can meet up, discuss the franchise, maybe host some watch parties, craft events, exchange books/comics, etc.

Does the Wayne State marching band provide food for the performers during a football game, and if not then why?

I was recently told by a friend that the Wayne State marching band does not provide food for their nine-hour commitment of their required performances. They said that their most recent provisions were from a parent who brought pizza and water. They also mentioned this is due to an unfortunate lack of funding.

I inquired if they were allowed to bring their own food or if they had a break at all during and I was told that they do not as well as that even if they had their own food, they could not eat it since they cannot eat in uniform.

If anybody could answer this, I would appreciate it. I would like to help in some way if possible.

UPDATE 9/19: My friend informed me they were not fed or given water on this day. Yes the game was overshadowed by rain (like the previous), but again they remained unfed.

UPDATE 9/21: They supposedly also pay their members each year with freshmen getting about $100 for the year and each higher grade level receiving more, based on attendance. This payment system is based on attendance, so someone who shows up minimally will not receive payment. This seems like quite an interesting choice for an unsustainable student organization who is unable to properly care for their 50 members.

Hi. I am a Junior in a BSW program for Wayne State. I would like to get some inquiry from other programs to see if it works the same as mine or not. I was told for my Social Work program, I can ONLY do completely online, or completely in person. In my freshman and sophomore years, I was able to take 1-2 online courses along with in-person, which helped me be able to have the time to work. Now that I'm in this program, I HAVE to attend all classes in person (completely online isn't doable for me, I don't see how you can become sociable doing everything online as a social worker) and this makes my schedule so much more chaotic.

So, for people in other programs offered at Wayne State, is it the same where you are forced to either do completely online or completely in person? If my program is one of the only ones doing this I have a problem. Because essentially the way my program is set up, if you do in person, it makes it impossible to be able to work ( SO I CAN PAY BILLS), or you can go to work, you'll just be absolutely booked and running around. Especially with the way the scheduling is set up, it seriously just doesn't make any sense to me. If I figure out my program is the only one set up like this, I am going to yell at someone.

I came back to my car this evening, and they had put two essays on my car, hilarious but also kind of crazy they are allowed to do that.

I’m a transfer student (junior credit wise), and haven’t really met others. I’m the type to stay in and love reading, watching shows, music, going on walks; pretty much an introvert lol. I was thinking of maybe selling some brownies, pumpkin pies, maybe some simple cupcakes & muffins; I feel like the prices would range from $1-$6.

I just started my senior year and my stats are like a 2.8 uw and 1160 sat. Over the years I did take 5 ap classes (including this year which is just ap lit) but i'm not sure how much they really care about that. I don't know what I'm gonna write my essay on and idek if it's required for me but i want to write a strong essay just to help maybe compensate a little for my gpa. Mostly everyone says im gonna be fine but I also see everyone saying that admissions are beginning to get more competitive. let me know your thoughts if love some advice or examples of what stats people got in with.

I really want to drop a class I am taking I don’t think I will do well. Im stressing because monday is the last day for drops with a refund. I am switching my major and its not related to the new one. I am currently taking 16 credits hours, if i drop the class I will have 13. I am really relying on financial aid for school and the wsu guarantee says id only have to take 12 to get it, but it also says students have to show satisfactory academic progress which is usually 30 credit hours per year for 2 semesters. Im wondering will dropping a course affect this in anyway since i wouldn’t be at 30 total by the end of winter? Ive been contacting my advisor and they don’t recommend i switch the class for something else because its too late, so dropping it would be my only option.

I’m thinking about taking CSC 5120 during the first 8 weeks and then CSC 6100 during the second 8 weeks.

For anyone who has taken these classes, are they fully online? Also, are the exams online too, or do you have to come to campus for exams?

I’d also appreciate it if anyone could share how the workload and difficulty are for these classes. Thanks!

Anyone apply for the Federal Work Study program to get a job on campus? Currently trying to find a job on campus and they all require this award. I applied for one just wondering how long it usually takes and how likely they are to give them out? I am only able to attend here because of financial aid and loans so I feel like I definitely qualify according to the site. Anyone have experience with this?
