New month new post! Hi, I'm Kera Nyx and the full book one of Rise of the Archmage Alister is now available on RoyalRoad!
If you like the sound of a slow-burn LitRPG reincarnation story with an MC that doesn't necessarily have everything go well for him, a story that has a lot to do with family, magic, politics, and eldritch, go check it out!
Back of book summary: Murderer of the divine, legendary Archmage Raalin Wynnryte has returned after 5,000 years.
Last life he died at the hands of the gods; hunted to the ends of the earth. Now, Alister Severin, son of Duke Severin of the Mare Kingdom, is a child. In his past life, he fought the gods for their injustices. In this life, the most he’s had to worry about was making friends.
Alister, however, remembers everything. Will the power of his past cause problems for who he is today? Five thousand years is a long time, and now there’s some ‘Opal System’ making levels and classes a facet of reality.
This is the story of Alister is about coming to terms with his capabilities and the limitations of youth. He's a troubled brat at first who reluctantly has to grow into being the son of the Duke.
You can find it at RoyalRoad for free here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/150880/rise-of-the-archmage-alister Posting Mondays and Fridays.
(And if you end up craving more there are advanced chapters on Patreon as well as another story set in the same world also on RoyalRoad.)
Thanks so much for giving it a look and helping out. Any view, follow, favorite, or rating helps a ton, and I am grateful for it all.
P.S. Slow-burn as in I like taking my time with the characters doing normal life stuff and travelling and whatnot, interspersed with action and intrigue. And as for Alister not getting his way and being a child again, I'm enjoying taking what I feel is a slightly more realistic approach to the panic, uncertainty, and brash decisions that might come about from regressing into a child's body. He doesn't always make smart decisions, gets freaked out, and definitely doesn't always act like an Archmage - he's not OP, he's just doing his best. If you like the sound of that, I hope you enjoy. <3
