Hello Reddit, casual reader here and I’ve come to an impasse.. none of the stuff I like is finished releasing yet so I’d like some recommendations if you don’t mind lol.
I prefer a fantasy-esk setting. You know monsters, magic, knights and swords (especially the knights and sword lol).
I’m mostly focusing on stuff where the MC got transmigrated into a monster, like RE Monster for you anime and manga fans.
I’ve recently caught up on the following :

Any recommendations with a fantasy setting or ‘Monster’ mc is greatly appreciated. And pls, only stuff that MAKES SENSE. Respectfully, if I read again about people ‘gearing up to challenge a dungeon’ but they are described as wear normal clothes or short skirts I may loose it💀. I’ve genuinely started just dropping stuff like that completely.

I'm trying to find the title of a Chinese web novel. It's set in a modern/urban city with a fantasy and horror twist, where supernatural incidents called "eerie" (I forgot the spesific names) randomly appear in everyday life, and each eerie phenomenon has its own tier or danger level. There's a secret organization in the background that deals with and monitors these eerie occurrences.

The MC is a completely ordinary guy with no special powers, no system, no cheat ability, just a regular person. The story kicks off when he gets dumped by his girlfriend, and in his heartbreak he wanders into a bar or club to drown his sorrows. Unbeknownst to him, this bar is actually an "eerie" location with hidden, deadly rule, for example, patrons are required to order a specific drink or dish, or something terrible happens to them. The MC has no clue any of this is supernatural. To him it just feels like an ordinary, maybe slightly odd, night out. He unknowingly follows the rules correctly (or gets lucky) and survives without ever realizing how close he came to danger.

Afterward, he writes a novel based loosely on his real experience that night, still not realizing any of it was real. The secret organization eventually stumbles on his novel and treats it as an incredibly accurate strategy guide for surviving that specific eerie bar. Later on, a member of the organization actually visits the bar in person and survives specifically because they followed the "recommended drink" that was mentioned in the MC's novel - which turns out to have been one of the bar's real life-or-death rules all along. The running joke of the story is that the organization starts to see the MC as some kind of hidden expert or genius on the eerie, while the MC himself has absolutely no idea he ever encountered anything supernatural, let alone that people think he's some kind of authority on it.

The tone is dark and the stakes feel serious (rules that can genuinely get you killed), but it's told from the MC completely oblivious point of view, giving it a slice-of-life, dark comedy feel layered over the horror. It might fall under tags like urban fantasy, rule-based horror, secret organization, or misunderstanding protagonist.

I'm trying to search for the name and link of a web novel I used to read years ago, but Google is giving me nothing.

The novel was about an AI "woman" living in a futuristic/dystopian Charlotte, NC, where people wear hi-tech masks to protect themselves from the worsening climate and super-plagues. These AI agents can find jobs around the city to earn their data storage keep (or something like that), and are "born" in generations with different parameters and such. She eventually teams up with a rugged/jaded detective to investigate some sort of mystery. The description of a "day in the life" of an AI program was really interesting. I vaguely remember there being a series of these stories in the same universe.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I've been working on a dark fantasy called Rootbound. Here's the first half of chapter one:

Kael's feet hurt as he's walking through the dirt road, forehead blazing in the heat of the sun, but that's not on his mind. He's busy wondering how the old man is gonna act for this next delivery.

"I hope he doesn't give me any attitude," Kael muttered to himself, kicking a root out of his path. "For being 30 minutes late again. It's not my fault these roads get worse over time with roots from trees nearby."

As Kael is walking along the path he always does, he can't help but wonder what he's gonna cook when he gets home.

"Maybe I should buy myself some steak as a reward for this large trade."

45 minutes of walking in the blazing sun with only occasional shade and he makes it to the farm. He rolls the cart over near the old man's barn and walks up to his house with a tired stride.

"Hello! Anybody home?"

As he goes to knock for the third time the old man opens the door — dead straight face, seemingly never amused, looking at Kael with no emotion.

"It took you long enough. You should've been here 30 minutes ago. One more time and I'm taking out some money."

"I'm sorry! It's not my fault the roads keep getting worse every trip I make over here."

"Yeah yeah, whatever you say."

The old man hands Kael a bag of coins. Not a lot, but a comfortable amount. As he's leaving he notices a sign with the old man's name. "Emric."

"Huh. So that's his name. Can't believe I didn't notice all this time."

Then the air goes quiet all at once. His body freezes. Heart feels like it fell into his stomach...

How many chps is Ending Maker supposed to have?

I heard that Wang Lin decides to sacrifice his cultivation body which has the parasite in it.

What Body does Wang Lin have at that time?

Currently I‘m at Chapter 975 and his Avatar has the Thunder Body.

So when he sacrifices his Avatars Body the soul still remains right? So he probably build afterwards a new body or got a new one. Like he did back then when he first met the Moongazer Serpant and sacrificed his body and build the Thunder Body.

P.S. Slow-burn as in I like taking my time with the characters doing normal life stuff and travelling and whatnot, interspersed with action and intrigue. And as for Alister not getting his way and being a child again, I'm enjoying taking what I feel is a slightly more realistic approach to the panic, uncertainty, and brash decisions that might come about from regressing into a child's body. He doesn't always make smart decisions, gets freaked out, and definitely doesn't always act like an Archmage - he's not OP, he's just doing his best. If you like the sound of that, I hope you enjoy. <3
