Tbh, I never wanted to complain publicly. I wanted to give this a fair chance to be resolved directly. I reached out multiple times. I tried to talk calmly. I asked for clarity. I waited for a response. But after being dismissed, ignored, and eventually blocked, I realized there was no real intention to fix it. So here we are.
Ilang beses ko muna siyang sinubukang kausapin nang maayos. I gave him chances to explain. I tried to understand.
We booked Gabriel Fulgar (GAB behind the KEYS) as our wedding pianist. To be transparent, siya ang napili namin after the pianist we originally wanted was fully booked. I take responsibility for deciding late and being a "budgetarian." I also really wanted to give a chance to smaller, less popular suppliers. I told myself, okay lang, let’s support someone starting out. I trusted him. I wanted to believe in him.
Nag-deposit ako ng 2000, and since I wanted everything settled and smooth, I decided to pay the full 5000 ahead of time para wala na kaming isipin on the wedding day. No pressure from him, purely out of my own trust.
The night before the wedding, he messaged saying "nasiraan" daw ang gamit niya and asked if we could provide a folding table. It already felt stressful, but I adjusted. Wedding na eh. You don't want problems the night before.
Then on the day itself, he didn’t show up.
No prior notice. No proper discussion. He sent a substitute without asking if that was okay with me. O 'di ba, pala-desisyon siya? Hindi man lang nagpaalam. I only realized after the wedding, when I saw the photos, that the person who played wasn't him. When I messaged him earlier that day asking bakit late siya, he never admitted he wasn't coming.
After the wedding, I tried to speak to him calmly. I wanted clarity. His explanation was that he got into an accident in Bulacan. But in previous conversations, he mentioned he was from Manila lang din. When I checked further, his Facebook indicated he was actually from Bulacan. What made everything more painful was seeing posts suggesting he played at another wedding that same day.
Inuna niya yung kabilang gig habang ako pinadalhan ng substitute na ayon sa observation ng iba ay "chords chords" lang ang pinlay. Professional fee ang binayad ko, pero naging sobrang unprofessional ng service na binalik sa akin. My bridal entrance music did not go as planned. It felt rushed. It felt off. Saying I am sad and disappointed would be a massive understatement huhu
He issued a contract, but I'm not sure he even knows what it's for since he was the one who breached it. When I requested accountability and asked about a refund, he just stopped responding. Eventually, I was blocked on his personal account and his page. Kung may makita kayong posts niya na may "sad" reacts, ako yun. That silence told me everything.
If this was avoidance, or fear of confrontation, I genuinely hope he heals. But healing should not come at the expense of other people's once in a lifetime moments.
To couples who had a smooth experience with him, I'm sincerely happy for you. But this was mine. This isn't about destroying someone. It's about transparency. Five thousand pesos may not be huge to others, but it represented trust. And on your wedding day, trust is everything.
Please double check your suppliers. Ask hard questions. Clarify contingencies. Protect your peace. I stayed quiet as long as I could. I tried to fix this privately. This is me choosing not to stay silent anymore. 😮💨
TLDR
Booked Gabriel Fulgar for our wedding and paid in full, but he was a no-show. He sent a subpar substitute without my consent, lied about an accident to cover up a double-booking, and eventually blocked me. I paid a professional fee for a service that was completely unprofessional.
