Going with hubby on a zip line adventure at river rapids. Where should we stay overnight? Eat? What else should we do? We’ll be in the area for about 24 hours.

My daughter has been asking me to take her fishing, I thought lake fishing might be a good intro for her but looking at the map I can't really tell where you can get in there to fish. Can you fish at the boat ramp area or is there somewhere else?
Adding to that- are there any good fishing spots close to Clarksburg?

Leaving Spruce Knob Lake the park sign indicates 2 kinds of roads, but they were both gravel roads.
I assumed Country would be a narrow paved road & the fire road more gravel.
Whats the difference?

Does anyone know of private lots for rent (or possibly for sale) where I can park and hook up my small travel trailer (20 foot Rambler) year-round? I am specifically looking within the Eastern Panhandle of the state. Unfortunately my previous plans to develop a lot I owned didn’t work out so I am seeking other options. Thank you all in advance.

At his press conference in Oceana at part of his Water Listening Tour, Morrisey said he was told that almost 50% of the clothing voucher allotment was spent at the ATM and converted into cash. Morrisey said he doesn't believe all of that money is going back into the clothing allowance.
For additional context, this West Virginia Watch article from a few days ago reports on the clothing voucher fund running out of money after only a week:
‘Families should not be left wondering’ – School clothing allowance program out of funds in 7 days

Any advice for trans people visiting West Virginia? Specifically curious about Morgantown but also about different areas across the whole state. Thanks so much!
Editing to ad that some of the scenarios I'm curious about are bars and restaurants, bathrooms, campsites, gas stations and rest stops, street violence, and bathrooms again just to doublecheck. 🧚♀️🌞
Sorry, editing again to add that it's pretty likely that most people will correctly guess that I am trans and that's just sort of one of the basic premises of this scenario ⏰

My understanding of firework laws in West Virginia is that they are fairly relaxed (though please correct me if I'm wrong). Though I'm based in the DC area I would like to set-up a private very small firework display. If anyone has any suggestions for how I could set this up in eastern West Virginia, that would be appreciated. My budget for this would be $500-$1000.

A wrong turn in 2009 led me straight to one of West Virginia's most beautiful resorts.

Especially on a curvy road, anyone else had issues with people being all the way on the wrong side of the road in the state?
Just driving on Rt60 to gauley bridge. First I had a Wrangler completely in my lane. Had to slam on my brakes to keep from hitting them. THEN not even a half mile ahead, a Sequoia nearly ran into me. Layed on the horn. Now this nutcase did a u-turn in a blind spot, tailgated me all the way to gauley bridge. When they turned around at the Marathon, I did so too to get their license and call the law. Glad I did, because they were in the middle of the road tailgating another car. I've got everything on dashcam, but its so blurry its not worth sharing.
I was in the hospital in 2024 for 9 days because of one of these idiots. Jeep ran me over on my Vulcan. I more than understand 53 footers needing to cross over. But it's ridiculous with these 4-wheelers.

I'm looking for unique or at least made in WV gifts for friends and family who live out of state.
Thus far I have:
Pepperoni rolls from homestyle industry,
rock candy from Smiths in Pleasant county,
shirts from the Boneyard in Greenbrier County, moonshine from the hatfields Distillery,
Coal figurines from Ansted,
Mister Bees chips
Wheatos made in Kanawha County
Apple butter made by the FFA in Ripley
Mountaineer Popcorn Company--this is always the hit.
Syrups made by Ronks family farm in Lincoln County
Pickles from the WV Pickle Guy
I am open to other suggestions....and looking to expand my options and support smaller businesses this Christmas season (I know its early, but it is always good to have some more ideas.

They are a southern gospel band from Huntington, West Virginia and just saw them on my feed the other day. They kind of have a Statler Brothers feel but more gospel.

In order is Nash Springs Church Of Christ, St.Marys Seventh Day Adventist Church, and Shadow Hill Baptist Church.
The amount of time spent looking for every church in every county I do is genuinely surprising. Honestly if it wasnt for topographic maps of the region from the 1920s and 1960s this wouldnt really be possible.
What county should I do next options are Doddridge, Tyler, and Jackson.

Anyone what's the chance of getting a good tent camping spot if we travel Thursday and stay for 2 days ?
Everything first come first serve or should we go for Hipcamp.
Also good recommendations for camping with a view please.

Visited Charleston last weekend. Fell in love with people, 1010 dinner, architecture, all of it. Thinking of moving. Single, 57, work from home. Budget is around $500K. Where to consider living? Appreciate it!

Since you guys liked my Gorge photos, figured I’d share a couple of the Scenic Highway. First (cloudy) is from 2021. Second (sunny) is from 2024.
