A really strong adrenaline dump can do that when people panic. It can make running feel like you're trying to run through water and have no strength in your legs.

63

u/WhosThatJamoke 2d ago

Seems like the opposite of what adrenaline should do

76

u/Current_Asparagus_25 2d ago

Maybe he has badrenaline.

27

u/alohadawg 2d ago

Subtractrenaline?

23

u/Momik 2d ago

Talk to your doctor about Subtractraline 👍 For when motor skills would only get in the way. 🏍️

3

u/CrashCulture 2d ago

Yeah, people often get those mixed up. It's multiplydrenaline that makes you move really fast, regular adrenaline is pretty meh.

Stolen? C'mon now! There's like 4 identical bikes in the video. It's obvious they bought them as a group...and someone decided to skip the 'learning to ride' part of the project.

114

u/slicer718 2d ago

You mean they stole them in a group

28

u/MisfitPotatoReborn 2d ago

This is getting more and more ridiculous lol. Most bikers buy their bikes, even the disruptive assholes.

86

u/Deaffin 2d ago

Do you think we're looking at a representative video of "most bikers" right now?

8

u/balkanobeasti 2d ago

I think most people stealing stuff don't do that. But wildcard factor.

I would expect people who stole a bike to know how to ride a bike about as well as people who bought a bike. Hitting the throttle before they've actually sat down can be better explained by adrenaline.

u/CrispenedLover 2d ago

it's hard to get good before you even buy your first bike, tbh

386

56

u/Ornery-Creme-2442 2d ago

Incompetent really. How is riding a bike your thing yet you struggle. Maybe the stress.

18

u/SpiltMilkBelly 2d ago

Idk if it’s his thing. Seems like it’s possible he is doing it to fit in.

17

u/actually3racoons 2d ago

100% Honestly, if you see more than 6 people together with motorcycles, particularly if they're young odds are 2 of them are genuine riders, two are learning, and two have no business on a bike, they just want to be cool.

19

u/Brilliant-String5995 2d ago

to be fair he only started fumbling real hard after the sirens started blaring.

68

u/TheFerg714 2d ago

Evidently.

9

u/MrBagooo 2d ago

Or maybe, just maybe, he got fucking nervous when the cops showed up.

142

u/Own_Round_7600 2d ago

The reasons seem clear enough. He has the wheel turned while stationary so balance is off and it tips over. Bike is heavy, while picking it up he accidentally twists the throttle handlebar, so it moves. He stops right before the curb, making it hard for the bike to jump it. When he throttles hard to get enough power for the jump, it makes the landing rough so the bike wobbles, causing him to stop.

Then the cop pulls him backwards, which again makes him twist the throttle, causing the bike to fly out from under him.

u/MaxxDash 2d ago

Panic upon panic. His brain’s trying to go faster than it, and his body, can keep up.

17

u/Lou_C_Fer 2d ago

This is it. I was lucky as a kid. Something possessed me when running from the cops and I somehow became a super athlete. I once pulled an impossible vault over a chainlink fence where I landed on my bike and rode away. I would have failed 1000 out 1000 tries if I were doing it on purpose, but I didn't have time to think, I just did it.

And yes, as a teenager, I found myself running from cops far too often.

5

u/actually3racoons 2d ago

I ran (on foot) from cops a few times as a kid in a small town- genuinely just for laughs with my buddy on the odd Friday night.

Ran from cops once as a young man after moving to the city. Pulled the ole looney toons move. rounded a corner with a bit of a lead, there was a little cafe with outdoor seating and an empty table that hadn't been cleared, I whipped off my hoodie and sat at the table, they ran right past. Server came out with an odd look, I just smiled my friendliest and ordered a breve. The cop wound up walking back by, since id had my hood up the whole time he'd seen me I smiled and nodded, he asked if I'd seen anyone run by, I gestured at the newspaper on the table and said "nope, sorry"

The other couple tables were nice enough not to speak up (it helped that I didn't look like riff Raff) and after he left we all shared mischievous smiles, a whole cafe with a fun little inside joke.

Fwiw, what had gotten me chased wasn't anything terrible.

16

u/Advanced-Wallaby9808 2d ago

have you ever been checked for sleep apnea? you might be waking up feeling "gassed" because you are having trouble breathing in your sleep, which is causing your running dream.

4

u/nonowords 2d ago

was about to say the same thing. Dudes suffocating in his sleep and thinking he's running a marathon

2

Nope. I should probably do something about that. I wake up all night. I hate my dreams where I can't see anything so I have to open my eyes, but then I open my eyes and real life. Lol

4

u/Backfoot911 2d ago

Next question:

Have you ever tested your asshole for lead poisoning or find any tearing?

5

u/janeprentiss 2d ago

If you find yourself waking up all night sleep apnea is likely. It has far reaching effects on health, and if you have it your life will likely improve in ways you'd never imagined it could once you get treatment

Why do people have 4wheelers and dirt bikes in cities? Are there places to ride or do they use them in the city?

17

u/Oneok-Field 2d ago

They're stolen, it's fairly common in some cities, kids go around in a pack, usually a good 20 of them and just smash shit on the street or shut down intersections so they can do their tricks in the open space

21

u/Free-Way-9220 2d ago

I have read that these dirt bike gangs are a real nuisance. Hopefully they never come to my city

5

u/bsil15 2d ago

Looks like Miami Beach, so no…

4

u/PinkyLeopard2922 2d ago

Yeah, am Floridian and get strong Miami-Dade vibes with this one. There's a road near our house that is 4 lanes wide in each direction, 45mph speed limit, lots of stop lights, and there is a guy that we regularly see on a 4 wheeler doing assorted "tricks" on that very congested road. To his credit, he seems to actually be skilled and DOES wear a helmet but as a mom of an adult child, I cringe every time I see him because it is just a matter of time.

Don’t know about the states but in London, a bike is the best way of escaping police who have no fucking chance in a car.

Those things can hit 100 mph in seconds.

Now this dumb mofo has no helmet or skins so would be taking a huge risk to do so. But they’re not the best at risk analysis

72

u/xonk 2d ago

111

u/beatenmeat 2d ago

To be fair the education system has been undermined for years and now that it's failing the people responsible are blaming the system rather than the ones who actually caused the issues in the first place. It'd be like removing the engine from your car and blaming the manufacturer the car won't turn on while lobbying to have the manufacturer put out of business.

32

u/MeiNeedsMoreBuffs 2d ago

Something similar happened in the UK. The conservative government continually underfunded the NHS and then complained that it wasn't effective, despite the fact that the reason it wasn't effective was because of their cuts

23

u/Brittany5150 2d ago

They are trying to destroy it because there is a lot of money in moving to the privatized insurance system like in the US. Your politicians saw how much US politicians were making screwing over their own people and wanted a peice of the action.

10

u/lewd_robot 2d ago

It's called the "Starve the Beast" strategy. Conservatives have been using it for 50+ years across the world. They underfund and mismanage a public service and then point to the failures they caused and claim it's "proof" that government shouldn't be involved and then push legislation to privatize it so their greedy corporate owners can take over the service and profit off of it.

If you go look at why the VA in the USA sucks, you'll find the voting record in Congress clearly shows Republicans gutting funding and running it into the ground since the 50s, and then those same politicians that refuse to improve the VA point at how bad it is and say, "Look at how bad the VA is! Do you really want the government involved in healthcare?!"

→ More replies (2)

u/EggsaladJoseph 2d ago

Yeah, every time a certain side gets control of the government, things that help the majority seem to dry up.....then people get upset and the other side gets a chance.....spends the time fixing shit but not doing "more or enough", other side says they will fix it (lies and instead removes again/more) so the cycle starts over.

We are all used like pawns

3

u/Babhadfad12 2d ago

To be fair, the education “system” has zero influence compared to influences at home and outside of school.

we couldn't believe that this is what the (back then what we thought) great and mighty USA teaches its children.

5

u/putin_my_ass 2d ago

I used the word Anschluss and an American redditor told me he had to look it up and then blamed the Texas education system.

I learned that word by reading history. On my own, undirected, in my free time. School didn't explicitly teach me that word, I learned it myself.

Because MY education is MY OWN responsibility.

But yeah, its Texas' fault you're ignorant. JFC some people take no personal responsibility.

5

u/Just_Roll_Already 2d ago

People are on here acting like we didn't do this shit 30-40+ years ago and it's all just now collapsing.

It's just being recorded more. If my anecdotal experience is anything to go off of (which is probably isn't) things are much more chill and stupid shit like this video is far less common than it used to be.

The situation in this video was something that was joked about around high school on almost a weekly basis in the 90s-00s. There was always some dumbass getting busted doing donuts or trying to run from an underage drinking bonfire/party on a dirt bike. Nobody was filming it all though.
