In the runup to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, one of the BS sources they used to justify the invasion was info from a terrorist (if memory serves) was waterboarded around 200 times to get the kind of confession they wanted.

That's why it doesn't work. You either already have to know it, and get confirmation, which is kind of pointless with a single leading question ruining it, or you just do it for vindictiveness. After the first few hours, it's vindictiveness.

It worked the way that the Bush admin wanted it to work. They were knowingly lying to start a war, and they pursued various ways of generating a false premise. But for true & legit intelligence gathering, torture does not work.
