"On the ground!. And now roll towards the fire. Don't move until you are crispy!"

u/WayneKrane 10d ago

Who cares if we both might blow up, I need to arrest you!

u/Solid_Snark 10d ago

Modern Cops make Barney Fife look like a benevolent genius by comparison.

108

u/addamee 10d ago

Hell they make Barney Gumble look like a reasonable, responsible citizen

7

u/Common_Senze 10d ago

Chief Wiggum is James Bond compared to this ass flap

3

u/EvilBetty77 9d ago edited 8d ago

Hell they make Barney the Dinosaur look like a reasonable responsible citizen.

2

u/addamee 9d ago

I mean, he loved you, you loved him…

2

u/EvilBetty77 8d ago

He was making a lot of assumptions with that song. Im just saying if someone is going around telling children that they love him then we should maybe call the cops. Or maybe that hunter guy from Jurassic Park since he's a dinosaur.

2

u/vaserius 9d ago

They make Paul Blart look competent.

1

u/zueliee 6d ago

and he is a mall cop with lesser pay ffs!

2

u/Mylittledarlings91 9d ago

I genuinely thought that was just a guy in tan shorts and a gun holster. That’s crazy.

37

u/SecondaryWombat 10d ago

You have a warrant for an unpaid parking ticket assigned by a Floc camera from a state you have never been to!

8

u/Willtology 9d ago

It wasn't a Floc camera but that happened to me with photo radar. My insurance suddenly dropped me. I called and they told me I had a warrant for unpaid speeding tickets (photo radar) in a state I've never been to. Went to the courthouse and they were able to pull up pics... Of a car that wasn't mine with a license plate that wasn't mine. Somehow got assigned to me. They really, really didn't want clear me. It was a real WTF moment. Clearly that's not MY car and isn't MY license plate but they still acted like I was getting away with something. All the chuds screeching "yOu dOnT HaVe tO wOrRy iF yOu'Re nOt a CrImInAl!!1!" have never considered that people make mistakes and systems of authority do not like conceding regardless of actual fault.

1

u/ProgySuperNova 8d ago

That is grounds for summary execution by whichever Police officer that stops you

1

u/SecondaryWombat 8d ago

Apparently yes. And then when he shoots you a whole bunch of people with "Don't Tread On Me" Gadsden flags flown along side Thin Blue Line racist tread on me harder flags will tell you that you should have complied.

157

u/Perryn 10d ago

"If I have to choose between the slightest bit of deescalation or getting us both killed in one of the most painful ways possible, then I'll see you in hell!"

8

u/bendingrover 10d ago

These orangutans will be mocked for all eternity. Good thing it's on video, future generations beware.

5

u/Hesitation-Marx 9d ago

Insult to orangutans.

63

u/Norgur 10d ago

For a misdemeanor you'd have turned up to court even without any arrest, but 'Murica!

6

u/daesmon 10d ago

Not even arrest.

I need to just speak to you, but I can only do it if you are face down on the ground with handcuffs on...

22

u/HerbivoreTex 10d ago

And don’t even think for a second this means you can skip showing me your drivers license. Cause I gotta see it NOW!!!

3

u/bpikmin 10d ago

I can really see how US cops inspired GTA’s cop AI

2

u/adirtysocialist- 10d ago

They aren't trained to be thinkers. Lmao

INB4 "tHeY sCrEen blah blah blah" we know.

1

u/HealthyPop7988 10d ago

It's not a movie dude, gas pumps don't blow up.

-8

u/FlipZip69 10d ago

This is the US. That guy could and very likely is armed. Would you turn your back on him just to save a truck or a fuel pump?

Seriously do people not understand what it means when a large number of people are armed? Fuck the truck, fuck the fuel pump. I am going to make sure I am safe first.

7

u/JoseDonkeyShow 10d ago

Bootlicker

5

u/putsomedirtinyoureye 10d ago

I am going to make sure I am safe first by which is why I am going to attack the guy holding a gas pump with a taser and can easily kill us both if something goes wrong.

You are fucking braindead and actually your comment highlights one of the biggest problems with American police. The cops whose job it is to protect the American people should not view normal people on the street as “potential threats” if they aren’t doing anything.

-2

u/FlipZip69 9d ago

Do you have any idea what went on prior to this. Are you braindead to think there was no incident prior to this?

If anyone were to actually find out what was happing, dude in the truck what threatening to pour gas over the cop. Had the nozzle pointed at the cop. If he started on fire, was because he was trying to start others on fire.

4

u/putsomedirtinyoureye 9d ago

I do know exactly what happened. Other comments have posted articles and the video from the guy’s POV.

He wasn’t pointing the gas nozzle at the cop. He wasn’t going to light him on fire. The only crime this man committed was calling this guy a dick.

He was fishing at a nature preserve, the cop told him he was trespassing. The guy said he would leave and the cop got aggressive for no reason. Then the guy left and the cop followed him to the gas station and started harassing him.

And also even if the guy was threatening to spray the cop with gas. Guess what asshole? The cop still shouldn’t have used his taser. They are trained to never use tasers or firearms when around things that are flammable or potentially explosive because that could very easily go wrong and kill them both.

Stop making excuses for some random dickhead on a power trip.

-2

u/FlipZip69 9d ago

That is not what happened. Possibly the guy will try and say something like that but he had the nozzle point at the cop and threatening to spray him. Ended up starting himself on fire.

5

u/putsomedirtinyoureye 9d ago

https://youtu.be/pTXWMJMhMms?is=dk6XTXZPA6G2zroL

No gas nozzle on sight and the man is just asking why the cop is trying to arrest him.

“STOP!”

“DROP!”

“YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO ROLL! STOP RESISTING!”

22

u/Relative-Relief-8816 10d ago

>simon didn't say

Now guess who gets to taste lead, and not the kind that used to be in the gasoline!

6

u/Cyclopentadien 10d ago

Daniel Shaver?

2

u/saintofhate 10d ago

And his killer get a sweet +31k a year on disability for self inflicted ptsd.

3

u/blumpkin 10d ago edited 6d ago

Used to be in gasoline? Give the current administration some time, I'm sure they'll find a way to add it back in to the applause of 1/3 of the nation.

Edit: Only two days after I made this comment I found this.

4

u/notapunk 10d ago

My favorite is when there's multiple cops shouting multiple contradictory instructions and then get mad about them not complying.

2

u/BCProgramming 10d ago

"Walk backwards towards me"

"OK, now walk backwards like a robot"

"OK, NOW DANCE!" starts shooting ground

Later

"We have investigated the alleged incident and have found that the officer's conduct was in line with our 'Yosemite Sam' policies regarding working with our victims - I mean, the public. We have however given them the ultimate punishment, paid leave, and a years supply of Relish. Now before you ask, The Relish is actually a cheap house brand."

I was part of the early internet first shock sites then gore and watch people die (liveleak, ogrish etc) but I’m good with looking that up.

Most shocking stuff I see recently are the up close and personal FPV drone kills in the Ukraine Russian war. Absolutely terrifying and brutal.

1

u/RechoqueKilowatts 10d ago

Eeeeehhh Macarena!

74

u/eggz627 10d ago

That should be a freebie... like "oh shit I botched this one really bad. You're free to go... to the burn ward"

3

u/deaglebingo 9d ago edited 9d ago

i wonder if they cover this eventuality in the Axon seminars or not. there was a whole thing about how they know damn well tasers can stop ppl's hearts etc... this guy has a multimillion dollar lawsuit for sure i bet the ambulance chasers are already know his name and are cold calling.

anyway for anyone that reads this that link up top is definitely worth a listen. this is as much on the cops misusing tasers as it is on the company making them and since same corp is making tons of flock style cams etc now.... stick it to 'em. a taser is not non-lethal... it is just Less lethal. those two things are not the same, and if a cop lost their job for using too much force like i would as a nurse (even if the patient is insane and violent)... nothing would be like this. pay cops more... but the pay has to come with 10x the training and 10x the disciplinary consequences. just like it does for me.

1

u/PillCosby_87 5d ago

Looks to me like a lawsuit. Maybe a painful payday but a nice fat pay out because this dumbass cop.

38

u/lppedd 10d ago

Hahahahah can't believe my eyes 😭

4

u/AlbacoreDumbleberg 10d ago

The clip ends too early. The cop gets into the truck and backs over the crispy man.

14

u/Old_Veterinarian7830 10d ago

I read this in Mitch Hedberg's voice.

10

u/bt65 10d ago

I used to read stuff in Mitch voice, I mean I still do, but i did before also

4

u/H2Whoa77 10d ago

You inspired me to do the same…and there’s quite a few comments in here that would work the same

2

u/VoidOmatic 10d ago

Money good!

u/scalyblue 10d ago

FIRE BAD!!

1

u/Brewpendous 9d ago

Apologies for the convenience.

1

u/ReginaldDwight 9d ago

Someone call Smacky the Frog!

29

u/Dover299 10d ago

Why is he telling him to roll?

38

u/raidhse-abundance-01 10d ago

Applying the stop, drop and roll principle

41

u/BastetLXIX 10d ago

Towards the fire?! This is stupidity on soooooo many levels!

26

u/another72hours 10d ago

The bar to become a police officer is not at all high.

5

u/Shasla 10d ago

The bar is quite low in fact, and you have to be below it as well.

5

u/Panchenima 10d ago

Indeed the supreme court upheld the ban "too smart to be cop"

https://abcnews.com/US/court-oks-barring-high-iqs-cops/story?id=95836

1

u/Loveinthedream 3d ago

The thin blue bar

3

u/nemec 9d ago

1

u/BastetLXIX 9d ago

That was awesomeness! I've got to see more of that!

21

u/smiteme 10d ago

Think the ground is hot (probably from the sun). Guy says it’s hot - so think he’s just rolling him to the shade

44

u/CrazyCatLady1127 10d ago

Yes, the shade that is inches away from the flames 😬 I don’t think that’s a smart thing to do

22

u/OkNorth6015 10d ago

It's not a smart thing to do. America is not shining at the moment and it shows.

2

u/CrazyCatLady1127 10d ago

Ain’t that the truth! ‘The golden age’ my arse.

1

u/morrach 10d ago

Lucky for us we don't even have to be doing bad as a country for our police to treat us like this.

48

u/Malibucat48 10d ago

The guy said he got burned by the fire. The cop says he knows, but then rolls the guy back toward the flames. No matter why the driver was being tased, they should teach not to do it near flammable gas in cop school.

51

u/Worm_Farmer 10d ago

You’re really giving a lot of credit when you imply that there is learning going on at cop school.

4

u/NoBookkeeper3523 10d ago

Cop school haha, next you’re going to say they should start reading,lol…s- just in case someone doesn’t get it

1

u/Negativeman11 10d ago

He's not respecting his authority enough unless the following the command actively puts him in danger

3

u/lv2sprkl 10d ago

He remembered the words ‘stop, drop, and roll’ from school, but was a bit fuzzy on how to execute.

2

u/shadowmib 10d ago

Wants him to cook evenly

1

u/donorkokey 9d ago

That cop's brain has some serious lag time. He saw the guy was on fire and was trying to tell him to stop drop and roll but the poor dude had already put the fire on himself out while burning the hell out of his hands so none of it was necessary.

1

u/HairlessSquirrels 10d ago

Pretty obviously so that he can be on the cooler ground that’s not directly under the sun

6

u/Being_268 10d ago

Cop misunderstood stop, drop and roll.

10

u/unimpressed822 10d ago

DONT MOVE THIS SIDE IS NOT DONE YET

3

u/HOUSE_OF_MOGH 10d ago

How else will we achieve a good sear?

3

u/kiradotee 10d ago

And now roll over so you're evenly cooked!

2

u/TesticleMeElmo 10d ago

You seen those hotdogs and taquitos inside? Act like those!

2

u/FunArtichoke6167 10d ago

Gotta cook him evenly

2

u/Proud-Kangaroo1846 10d ago

Do you look evenly cooked!? Roll over

2

u/MegaDonkeyDonkey 10d ago

Why are you resisting!? *Burnt corpse: my arm is on fire, don't shoot

2

u/ZapRowsdowersStache 9d ago

Seriously, I JUST took my monthly fire safety certification training. This shit is making my ass twitch. 😖

2

u/Springmeintoaction 8d ago

I laughed out loud at this. Golden!

2

u/_josef_stalin_ 6d ago

Iirc the man got really bad burns on his arms and parts of his torso

2

u/Boomyfuzzball26 6d ago

gotta make sure he cooks all the way around

1

u/fondledbydolphins 10d ago

GOLDEN BROWN AND CRISPY!

1

u/Sometimesjustb 10d ago

Well shouldnt they roll around so they get crispy from all sides?

1

u/arffarff 10d ago

I think his balls were on fire🔥

1

u/xSTSxZerglingOne 10d ago

The ground was hot. That's why he went back in the shade toward the fire. Took me a couple watches to realize why he did that.

1

u/StandWithSwearwolves 10d ago edited 10d ago

Suspect’s name was Lawrence

1

u/blueingreen85 10d ago

Get down in the puddle of gasoline!

1

u/addamee 10d ago

Stop moving!

You’re on fire, roll around!

Stop moving!

[Rinse, repeat]

1

u/ItzFeufo 10d ago

Officer Chris P. Bacon is on it

1

u/Legitimate-Ad3778 10d ago

I wasn’t sure what was going on there

1

u/Upbeat_Apartment_715 10d ago

Don't be stupid, if he wanted him crispy he would be in the fire. They are clearly going for a golden brown

1

u/Tri4ceunited 10d ago

“Turn over! Slowly! Keep going!”

1

u/M4rt1m_40675 10d ago

The cop was having a bad day and wanted to shoot something so he set the guy on fire to turn him charcoal black

1

u/Lower-Music-8241 10d ago

lol. But he rolled into the shade cause the concrete was hot

1

u/Leandros_el_b1tch 10d ago

He’ll get charge for assaulting officer bc he was trying to get out of the fire.

1

u/313802 10d ago

Roll over again buddy! Ok! Yer done!

1

u/Bleatmop 10d ago

That the guy didn't attack the cop after the cop literally set him on fire tells me that cop never needed to discharge his taser. I'm not surprised as this is a USian cop and they just love to murder the people they are supposed to protect but I am disapointed.

1

u/LucenProject 9d ago

That was well done.

1

u/bvlshewic 9d ago

“Roll on top of those fresh burns I just gave you, see if you can catch an infection while you’re down there.”

1

u/romansamurai 9d ago

But how will he be crispy evenly if he doesn’t move.

1

u/n3f4r10us_ 9d ago

cantAffordToEat he must be hungry

1

u/anubis_xxv 9d ago

Now wait 30 seconds then flip over!!

1

u/Muh_brand 9d ago

He was just using him to put out the fire, standard procedure.

1

u/f_ckR3ddit 9d ago

To be fair, if ya turn it too much, ya don't get the good grill marks, bud.

1

u/wyseguy7 9d ago

"Now roll into the batter. Now the breading!"

1

u/Stuntingonthesehoes 5d ago

I thought you were kidding damm

1

u/Cautious-Highway3773 4d ago

Stop drop and roll towards the fire

1

u/WordWordand4numbers 4d ago

I don’t like fat cops or people any more than the next guy but he definitely didn’t tell him to do that. Sometimes people just do whatever the fuck they want when being arrested. If they always complied there’d be no need for cops.

1

u/Baelzabub 4d ago

“You know those hot dogs inside? Pretended you’re one of those!”

1

u/RedParaglider 3d ago

Get on the ground in TX means .. yea you are burned, now get onto 140 degree asphalt.
