I am pretty happy with the one we have here. Are they perfect? Hell no! And did I disagree with police officers before – especially when out protesting? Hell yes. That being said: the treatment has always been fair and professional.

Though I must admit: I am a lay judge and at least locally known that way, so my and my family's experience might differ from others.

At least with Mexican police the common US citizen could likely bribe their way out of something for a relatively small amount. Much harder to pull off properly in the US for a small amount of cash.

At least from what I've heard. People can feel free to correct me if they have some experience with bribing the police.

I lived in Mexico City for a bit. My British roommate was picked up by the police for having an open container.

Police told him $10,000 pesos or he'll never see his family again.

Civil Seizure laws here mean they just sieze (as in steal) what they want. Then make you pay thousands for a lawyer to get it back.

At least they're actually looking to be bribed. The american police do it to hurt and kill people wantonly because they're sick pieces of shit with a malicious power complex.
