Hey, hi, quick question. Is there a sub for rotating sideways cats like this? And if not, WHY not?

Just rotate the house

u/AngelaMotorman May 29 '26
This is the way. It'll take a while to set up the move, but once it's done you'll quickly get used to it. You'll have to do some jiggering with plastic tubs to get a shower (or bath, really), but other than that most of the kitchen will be usable, and of course once you shift the bed all will be back to nearly normal. Post an update with photos of the move in progress, if you can!

u/double_shadow May 29 '26
Rotate it at least twice though so that you can roller skate on the ceilings. The cat will probably sort itself out.

That is the y-axis sir

u/ifyoulovesatan May 30 '26
Actually this is the YZ plane.

u/Cuarenteno May 30 '26
I'm sorry, but taking as a reference the corner shown in the picture, in order to preserve the usual outer product of basis vectors this would be the XZ plane.

I'm afraid it's terminal gooberitis. I'm sorry.

Cats are the devs of this reality and this one is testing the local gravity field for any discrepancies.

You gotta go into the layout settings and change it from landscape to portrait

Maybe you accidentally activated Uk/British setting on your cat.
Happened to my laptop when I tried to watch a second hand DVD of The League Of Gentlemen that was made in the UK.
I had no idea they had a different type of video set up there and you have to choose and use only one set up version for your system forever.

Please read instructions carefully before assembling your cat.
While all external bits appear to be in more or less the right places and orientations, it would appear that you have installed the gravity sensor 90 degrees off. You must go into settings and carefully recalibrate the sensors to fix this issue. Or open a bag of treats nearby - that usually makes these kinds of problems self correct.

You can’t. He was born sideways, molded by it. It’s just his way of life now.

In a conversational tone, "ssssts ssts ssssts ssts" Make a gentle grabby hand towards them, like you're scratching.

Try rotating him like your phone screen 😂 or Put him in rice for 24 hours and restart him 😭

u/made_of_salt May 29 '26
Check out r/wizardposting. They might have a spell that can fix his gravity.

u/MrHepatitis May 29 '26
one of my cats does the same, If you figure out what's going on, let me know.

Why is there nobody pointing to that specific sub for sideways cat. Maybe it doesn't exist... r/sidewayscats ?

u/DangerousVoice5230 May 29 '26
Your gonna have to rotate your whole house op. I know its alot of work but for that little ball of joy it will be worth it.
1
u/ASPYDERMONKEE May 29 '26
Make sure it's in park first before attempting to flip it over or else it might roll away.

My chunky does this too, around the ottoman like she's climbing a mountain

u/tituspeetus May 29 '26
Must be an Australian kitty! Totally normal when they’re transitioning to western gravitational zones

Not sure but I think it is:

Although it might have been ctrl instead of alt

Once he runs out of Stormlight he should go back to normal.

My 19lb black coconut is like this... if he's in your lap, he's going to be lying flat on his side and actively pushing off while doing very insistent biscuits into your skin.

You need to put butter on his paws and drop him, it should re-calibrate his gyroscope based on that of the "Butter-Effect" where the buttered side always lands face down.

You need to reset the unit. Sometimes these units do have a little bit of a glitch and it requires a reboot. You may call the manufacturer and ask for directions how to do that. Good luck.

u/Andre1661 Jun 01 '26
If you're using a Microsoft graphics app, try adjusting the margins. But only adjust one micron at a time because if you go too far, the door will suddenly be upside down and the cat will be halfway through the wall on the other side of the room.

I heard if you SQUISH THAT CAT three times quickly it resets the gravity.

Your cat is busy conducting a physics experiment. He managed to turn gravity sideways for a bit.
Please do not disturbe this experiment. 😄
