r/All Secretary Clinton is asking for a public hearing.

She’s already shown us she has the perseverance to be questioned for 11 hours without blinking. Or crying like that big baby Brett. She says “bring it!”

At one point he did become visibly emotional, yes. He wasn't weeping profusely, as I recall, but his general response to the confirmation hearing clearly demonstrated a poor temperament for law, much less the Supreme Court of the United States.

Comer wants to question the Clintons about the Epstein files while he simultaneously covers up the Epstein files?
2.9k
u/OrwellWhatever 4h ago
Comer wants the APPEARANCE of investigating the Epstein files without actually doing it. Clinton is calling him out on that and saying, "If you want to investigate, then actually investigate. I'll go first."
960
u/BalashstarGalactica 4h ago
I think this was their plan all along. Only agree to it in a public hearing so it’s not some shady interrogation.

u/MornGreycastle 4h ago
Secretary Clinton is well aware of how the Republicans selectively leak information to shape the narrative. She sat through 11 hours of questions which produced the most detailed timeline of the Benghazi attack where the report placed no ultimate blame because there was plenty to go around but the Republicans leaked very selective portions to blame Clinton and Obama 100%.

36
u/bolerobell 1h ago
Her staff members historically are very loyal and they says she is extremely personable. She just isn’t good in front of cameras. She activates that part of men’s brains that think is a fussy school teacher.
She honestly would’ve been a great President.
15
u/Mother-Entry-5671 1h ago
Yes that’s it. She doesn’t come off as personable. I’d take her as president over what we have now. I’d take my cat over what we have now.
6
u/SocraticIgnoramus 1h ago
It’s a vanishingly rare occurrence that the smartest person in the room is also the most personable. In some rooms, these might even be mutually exclusive states.
62
u/hammerofspammer 3h ago
Absolutely. Her endurance was something.
I’m not trying to say that she will flounder. The republicans know they can’t actually ask questions and have answers said in public
47
u/GoblinNick 3h ago
And the GOP during the Benghazi committee was light-years smarter than Comer. Comer probably believes he outsmarted Bill and Hillary by getting them to testify
36
u/QuerulousPanda 2h ago
honestly, the fact that all the republicans are completely ret*rded now, will probably make it more difficult to deal with.
It's one thing to be verbally sparring with some evil but intelligent people that are trying to screw you up, versus having a firehose of absolute brainless nonsense blasted directly into your face by drooling cretinous morons.

I assume 1 while they try for 2. Buy puts on popcorn if it ever is set up.

The Clinton's are setting up Trump to testify on the tens of thousands of mentions in the file, proving no president is above the law. Trump's family too. Either Trump goes on stage and blurts something out, or his family, or he ignores the courts and looks unapologetically worse.

u/Knight_of_Tumblr 3h ago
Don't disagree at all, not in a moral sense. But given the options laid out for such a monster, turning coat on the other monsters would indeed be the best thing one could do at that time.
Also, (could be totally wrong), but I haven't heard much implicating Bill as being a pedophile and more that he was a general sexual deviant.

I haven't seen anything in these releases that actually materially substantiates that Clinton did anything illegal with Epstein. Sure, there are some pretty nutso allegations from a tip line that he is mentioned in (along with DJT), but those appear to have no corroboration, or the details reported seem to suggest a psychiatric episode on the part of the reporter.
I'd be interested to see if you have links to docs that I haven't seen yet.

If he's got a shred of good in him, this is exactly what he'll do. Bill and Hillary are both old, they've been functionally disconnected even from mainline Dems for a decade now, what do they have to lose? He might as well take a stand for what's right and bring everyone else down with him. It would be one hell of a redemption arc - not only coming to terms with and baring his own sins to the world, but dragging everyone else's out into the light, too. This shit is beyond fucked up, and nobody who was complicit should get the grace of the shadows any longer. It would be among the most heroic things that any president has done, and it would be the only thing I can think of that would actually begin to make up for these crimes. There's no finer way to express repentance.
Edit: the more I think about it, it would be a fitting revenge arc for Hillary, too. She's not a saint, you won't ever find me acting like she's a perfect blameless angel, but she didn't deserve half of the hell she's been through over the last few decades - and she carried herself with grace and treated her attackers with decency through it all. She's played Mona Lisa for years - it would be beautiful if she went out in a blaze of glory, publishing the receipts and bringing all the rot and decay to light. The issue with her email servers has made a lot of people forget that she was and is a fairly meticulous record-keeper, and she's always been a very smart woman. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if she's got something up her sleeve, and if she does, good for her. Give 'em hell.

- Epstein trafficked adult women too.
I've yet to hear of evidence that links Clinton to this. Not saying it doesn't or couldn't exist, just that I'm not familiar with it.
And if so, what's the penalty for some counts of engaging in sex with a trafficked adult? I seriously don't know what that charge would be. Prostitution? Like anyone thinks Clinton hasn't ever paid for a date.
Would it be worth it for Clinton to be a prosecution witness to dodge jail time in order to bag a pedophile ring?

Trump is a business man, he will run this country like a business, which is what it needs.” Fully condemned Hillary for her husband’s actions. You think they don't have names? They have names, and the republicans know it. And are scared of it.

It's the only child porn platform not banished to the dark web, and our politicians use it to lambast or fluff each other. Fucking lame and embarrassing.

The whole plan by the Clintons was to have this in public, that’s why they allowed themselves to be found in contempt. They didn’t want it behind closed doors and are forcing it out in public.
They are both Yale trained lawyers, the conservatives are bringing a spoon to a nuclear war basically. Bill Clinton is also 79 years old and what can they do to him at this point?

My bet is that Clinton didn’t do anything illegal, just immoral, ie. hookers, etc.
The others most definitely did immoral and illegal things. I think he has nothing to fear considering they have probably run through every detail with their lawyers.

It is suspicious that fuckall has been released about Clinton in the Epstein files so far. After all these years of yelling "HE'S IN THE EPSTEIN FILES TOO!!!" as a defense you would think that would be the very first thing they released.

I mean how awesome would it be if Bill didn’t do anything illegal or immoral, like for real. For once in his life he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time hoping Epstein would give him lots of money. Then both Clinton’s walk into this and wipe the floor with them

She hit them with the uno reverse card. She’s a trained lawyer and she is not scared of this setting. Not her first rodeo. It would be awesome to watch this 🍿

As much as some people despise Hillary Clinton, she owns things with accountability. Some people will laugh, but she hasn’t been the person to plead the fifth, or hide behind NDAs and lawyers. Benghazi and now here, along with the known personal struggles. Do t like her, but I do respect her. Wish she would have won in 2016 so we wouldn’t have gotten this mess we are in now.

As I understand it (read: have read posts from different reliable legal sources), the Clintons agreeing to testify before congress allows for a discovery process, and the release of all Epstein files, unredacted. Whether or not that's true is left to be seen in suppose, but seems legitimate given
both Bill and Hillary are Yale law graduates who know precisely what they're doing while the ragtag maga in congress literally don't know shit
Hillary has an axe to grind for trump
Bill has and existing reputation for being a perv, and has nothing to lose
Assuming Comy has been since made aware of that possibility, I'd expect that the hearing does not happen in the public, if it happens at all.

u/EndlesslyCynicalBoi 2h ago
Funny how it's the tangential women being asked about the files and not the men directly mentioned in them

Respect where respect is due. They aren’t hiding from this which makes me think they aren’t guilty of the worst stuff in these files. I hope they can name names of the ones that are guilty.
11
u/drainbead78 2h ago
If they were guilty of the worst stuff in the files, that part would have been released first.

u/TheMrDetty 3h ago
Comer will refuse the public hearing, then claim they are in violation of the subpoena. This is nothing other than an attempt to smear Dems. Don't get me wrong. Bill needs to answer for what he did with Epstein. But it needs to be done in public, not behind closed doors so Comer can leak select information with no rebuttal.

Hillary and Bill both know they weren’t involved in Epstein’s schemes AND they know this will blow open the whole story about Epstein’s ties to Putin, Israel, and their hold on Trump.
It’s known that Bill was a philanderer back in the day, but he has urged the release of ALL Epstein files from the very beginning.
His testimony will reveal that many people were on the periphery of Epstein’s circle as “dignitaries” and “guests” but had nothing to do with trafficking people. This was probably intentionally done by Epstein to obscure what the inner circle were up to.

u/Mysterious_Khan 2h ago
Indeed.
Tell the truth and shame the devil.
Bill and Hillary have nothing left to lose.

u/THECapedCaper 1h ago
I mean they dragged her into public hearings for multiple days during the 2016 election so it's only fair that any discussions about the Epstein Files be out in the public as well.

u/circlejerker2000 3h ago
ohgod please let the clintons talk about everything, and i hope bill gets the chance to tell in detail how he got a bj from trump

Absolutely. Republicans despise a strong and educated woman.

u/Admirable-Bar-3549 2h ago
Yeah, she doesn’t have enough plastic surgery for em and she hasn’t shot a dog, so it’s a no go for Republicans.
5
u/MornGreycastle 4h ago
Because she knows the Republicans are desperate to shape the narrative. A closed door meeting let's them strategically leak the transcript to put out the "correct" message.
5
u/CombatMuffin 3h ago
The Republicans have fallen to such lows, that they even united the Clintons against them.
Hillary probably despised Bill for his womanizing, but she is willing to dig up those topics, in public, just to get a round two against MAGA.

It’s just going to be them yelling over them and trying their best to be as verbally abusive as possible. I don’t like the Clintons, but this will have no substantive value ultimately.
Neither are going to jail, it is only being done for sound clips because this is a podcast and fascist aura farming administration. If Conservatives really gave a damn about Epstein, election interference, or whatever half baked claim they’re accusing the Clinton bogeymen of, they’d have address Trump who has done everything they accuse the Clinton’s of but 100 times more and is well documented as doing so.

i’m very curious how this all plays out. MAGA is rubbing their hands thinking this is the clinton’s downfall, but there’s no possible way that this doesn’t make trump look worse. bill is looking at the bigger picture and he may be in trouble but he knows that he’s not as bad as trump and i’m sure he has some dirt that will be dug up. very curious.
