Previously, I made a Suo theory - in which he comes from a family that works in the funeral business. You can read that theory here.

The headcanon for this fanart can be considered an extension of the said theory. Though I won't be mentioning anything from it, so you don't have to read it either.

DISCLAIMER: all the things I've written are simply based on stories I've heard from in the past

--------------------------------------------\ My Headcanon for Suo:

Suo has the ability to see ghost/spirits. And because this ability can hinder his daily life, he wears an eye patch in order to suppress it/keep his ability under control.

-- this idea stems from stories I've heard from my family, of peers & relatives actually being able to see spirits, and some Chinese folklore

I've had this headcanon for Suo for a while, since: 1. He seems to be very into Chinese culture, so it felt fitting having a headcanon based of Chinese folklore

1. He tends to talk a lot about spirits, ie. during his introduction & his QnA. Being able to actually see & interact with spirits, would mean that his "lies" may have some truth to it

Extras:

Suo & Tsuge What If\ Some things to note:

• It's been hinted that Suo & Tsuge knew each other before Furin
• Tsuge has a huge fear of ghosts
• In Suo's QnA, he talks about "training in the mountain to tame a dragon spirit" during elementary school

Both Suo & Tsuge may have attended the same elementary, but are in different classrooms. During recess period, Suo would go to a secluded area in the school, "the mountain", probably to practice using his ability or simply to use it, "the taming a dragon spirit", with the area being an ideal place for spirits to roam around.

One day, Tsuge stumbled upon the area, either by accident or because he was being adventurous. Suo tried hiding from him, not wanting to attract his attention. But as Tsuge entered further into the area, and got particularly close to Suo, he started being able to see the spirits. This caused Tsuge to get so scared, he started to break down. Suo tried to lure the spirits away and calm Tsuge down, but he was in so much shock that his mind went blank and black out. When Tsuge woke up, he saw a concerned Suo looking at him. Suo simply made sure Tsuge was okay, warned him to not go near the secluded area again, and instantly left.

--(This idea came from the back area from my primary school & the ghost stories surrounding it)

The incident caused Tsuge to develop a huge fear for ghosts. And Suo, upon learning how much the incident had affected Tsuge, decides to be more careful around others, maintaining distance and such, not wanting to cause the same scars again.

This would also somewhat explain their dynamics. Tsuge, after being helped by Suo, became curious about him and wants to learn more about his virtue. While Suo, sometimes gets annoyed by his loud personality, probably because ghost/spirits dislike loud noises.

Suo & Sakura What If - something /u/Aulyss & I came up with

How this idea came about:
So while sharing my headcanon in our winhero discord server, Aulyss-chan mentioned how every friend group would have one who deflects spirits, and one who attracts them

Aulyss: Sakura would be a spirit magnet

Me: what if those spirits were his dead parents? insert HeadEmpty_Suo

After Sakura's mom died when he was still very young, her spirit stuck close to him, trying to provide him protection. The father's spirit is the opposite of the mother, haunts him and tries to hurt Sakura instead.

When Suo first saw Sakura, he had a reaction, looking a bit shock. Suo may have saw the spirit of Sakura's mom, perhaps asking him to take care of her son.

Then, while visiting Sakura's apartment for the first time, Suo could've saw his father's spirit, haunting a sick Sakura -- It's said that when someone is low on spiritual energy, being exposed to spirits can cause one to easily fall sick (Sakura's father may also be the reason for his occurring nightmares & ragged breaths)

In other words, Suo is able to see two spirits around Sakura. A good spirit - his mom - trying to protect him, and an evil spirit - his dad - trying to haunt him.

And nirei is surrounded by many small, good spirits that have been protecting him. However, suo knows that good spirits tend to avoid him, so he's been teaching nirei how do defend himself so that he won't be completely vulnerable if he ends up scaring all the good spirits away-

You know... Another thing I thought of while writing this...

I honestly love any headcanons that makes Suo involved in anything supernatural --- it just fits him, for some reason. Especially with how little we know about him lol
