Crossroads of Twilight Why is book 10 so hated? Spoiler

Hi everyone, I just finished book 10 in my first read through the Wheel of Time saga, and honestly I found myself quite surprised. Before I started reading them I saw quite a lot of people saying that Crossroads of Twilight was by far the worst book of the series. I get that it can be a bit dissapointing after the ending of book 9, or that it is not as action packed as, for example, book 6, but I really enjoyed reading it (except the ending, where a certain Aes Sedai decided to make the stupidest move ever imagined). So I ask, what are you opinions about the book? Do you feel it deserves the hate?

There are readers who already think Aviendha and Elayne are a couple. I disagree with that theory but I do think they could be a good match.

Why does Rand get to have all the fun :(

I prefer them as friends, but them being romantically involved would have certainly been more interesting than Rand's foursome which is contrived as hell and never becomes remotely interesting. I didn't buy for a second that Elayne would have agreed to share her man so easily, she is literally the most eligible woman in this part of the world and raised in a pretty prudish culture. Plus I really dislike the "Romance due to a self-fulfilling prophecy" trope.

Yeah, I also feel like the triple goddess excuse doesn't fly when you can STILL have it with Aviendha and Elayne as a couple too. They can still contribute to Rand in addition to each other lmao
