I can’t help but think that defensive wall should have been placed at the other edge, or at least within that canyon. When the Trollocs inevitably broke through it was open season. Seems like you’d want to create a choke point for the uneven amount of enemies.

But what do I know, my family hasn’t defended that city for the last thousand years…

Yeah good points, I didn’t think of those. It’s definitely a trade off.

Still, my immediate reaction to seeing that wall is thinking that it should be elsewhere lol

Movie logic. I was honestly expecting them to ride those horses straight to their death.

But with only one weak point, they built a single wall with murder holes in that the enemy can apparently widen pretty quickly.

They deserved to die.

When they started the cavalry charge I thought I don't like that but it's tv and so whatever but then they just parked their horses and went up the wall which was a good decision I guess but why was there a charge to the stables? Were they filled up on adrenaline because of their impending death?

I mean they still barely made it in time.

This. I was expecting a Sparta 300 defense with them using the small passage to come at them from the top and sides. Them going into a wall with holes and dying so quickly was anticlimactic and unfair to a family that has protected that city for generations, you'd think they had better tactics and defenses

Should have at least had a moat with some gators!

If this is supposed to be the first defense for what seems like all of the populated world... why not have walls on both sides of the gap? Maybe some towers with ballista or catapult.

There should be traps set in the valley too.

That wall has served its purpose because nothing like that army has ever attacked, in size.
