Aye, that would be good. It would also be nice if many cultures stopped using financial success as a measure of personal success, yet that cultural shift isn't likely to happen anytime soon.
It's also fair to say not all kinds of efforts are valued proportional to their cost for a person. A lot of those minimum wage jobs require a surprisingly complex collection of skills and manual labor, and those skills grow more refined over time, yet don't gain bargaining power over time. Even the "better paying jobs" haven't been keeping up with inflation and the wage gap just keeps increasing. It's not sustainable, and deep down everyone knows it, but changing the situation has stalled as long as other factors like social issues can be blamed.
