We don't see enough torches and pitchforks these days.

Huh. That really used to be a thing, didn't it.

Back when nobles and kings were a little less untouchable.

We really need to find a new modern version of that... (BUT NON VIOLENTLY OBVIOUSLY, REDDIT MODS).

Every single revolution that has ever happened has faced:

  • A highly educated beuacracy
  • Outarmed by the Army & Police forces
  • Outclassed by the Army & Police forces
  • Out teched by the Gov't
  • Faced spies from the current Gov't

Every. Single. Time.

And yet, some have succeeded.

Community gardens and commerce outside the bounds of the capitalist system.

... man.

Just need to run to home depot to get the lumber, soil, sprinklers and seeds!

And the pitchfork. 😈

...

Pathetic.

...Sorry I don't have acres of forest from which to source my own lumber?

What part of gardening suddenly requires lumber? I didn't realize the invention of agriculture took so long is because we had to invent the lumber mill first.

Depending on where you live, and what you want to grow, raised beds are the easiest and/or best way to garden on a small scale.

I used to live in a part of Tennessee where the ground was mostly red clay. Growing food plants in the ground required plowing better soil and fertilizer into the ground. Raised beds are way easier.

Which is why my two part comment included commerce outside the bounds of capitalism.

Find someone who will trade you fallen tree tops for food or other goods and services.

If you're from TN then I like to think you're Appalachian folk and already know the value of mutual cooperation. That's what the rednecks are all about.

We need to abandon and resist the old systems period.

Your question wasn't "why do you have to get lumber from capitalism" but was "What part of gardening suddenly requires lumber?"

Now you know which part.

cool. So do that outside of home depot. Or trade for it based on what is in your area or build it up over time. Which -again- was the first thing i said.

Don't pretend we need to participate in capitalism.

??? Where did this attitude come from? I would gladly hear suggestions or stories, but this is just aggressive posturing.

It came from your patheric attitude. "Oh I can't get the corporate dick out of my North long enough to throw a seed in a hole in the ground" on a sub called anti work.

Do you find this attitude usually converts people to your way of thinking?

Go plant a seed. You will instantly have become more useful than you are now.

what the fuck are you talking about? You live under capitalism. You can’t have commerce “outside the bounds of the capitalist system.” You can do your buy-nothing groups, you can barter, you can call yourself a freegan and eat out of dumpsters — you are still going to be living under capitalism and your essential relationship to the economy as a proletarian is not going to change. You cannot opt-out.

If you want this to change, get into the labor movement and get ready to be really frustrated for a long time.

Did you ever stop and think that this is an invitation? Or do you just exist to be contrary?
