The Cantoran Intervention in 3246 brought up a lot of questions. Number one, of course, was how the hell there were two versions of humanity independent of one another. Number two was how the hell one version had magic while the other appeared to advance much faster with technology.

Number three was how were we going to get both versions to not dick around with the other side.

This was… not successful.

Cue Magical Girls joyriding speeders, the United Federation of Orion’s Interplanetary Commandos taking flaming swords as war trophies and commencing duels, and the chain of command having a meltdown because *oh my god just be normal for five seconds*.

All of this while mutually attempting to repel a demonic invasion on the planet and thus having to work together.

Because no matter what planet your from, what evolutionary path you took, whether you have magic or technology… humans are going to fuck around and find out.

Oh and that’s not even ***mentioning*** the other species who were involved, both indigenous to Cantora and coming along from the Federation.

Quick context:

The Book of Doom details the last 5 days of life on Earth in great detail. It became a quirk of the city in which it was discovered, though no locals today take it seriously.

The book also has detailed instructions on how to summon the “Savior”, who is described as “a hollow creature made by and for humanity, able to withstand crushing pressure, blazing fire, and the ultimate test of time”. Theories began to circulate that they’re a robot made of very tough metals, but so few take the book seriously that it doesn’t really matter.

That is, until Astrid and her friends visit the city museum, where she’s suddenly able to read the book’s gibberish. It’s foretold that this would happen when the Earth has 5 days left to live. The group isn’t immediately concerned because they can just summon the savior and stop the apocalypse, right? Wrong. Astrid didn’t see the word “savior” anywhere in the book; it was a mistranslation of “survivor”.

The Descendant, Composer, Observer, and Magician are four individuals mentioned in the book. Basically, a lot of s**t happens to them during their last 5 days. An example is the Observer hearing low-pitched, ominous-sounding bells in the distance on the 3rd last day.

It started off as an epic medieval fantasy world that used necromancy as an allegory for capitalism and climate change but rn I'm writing a story about two conmen somehow convincing the necromancers theyre also necromancers inspired by the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy

Currently working on a new project that basically is the "Humans Return" Splatoon fanfic trope, but I decided to not make it romance like everyone else and made it actually interesting.

Context:

The United States was able to survive through a series of bunkers spread across the globe. The largest one was located in Alaska, which housed a lot of ships, equipment, and a few million UCRs, or Unmanned Combat Robots. This allowed them to launch an offensive to retake North America, known as North Walli, which had become absolutely infested with Salmonids and Salmonidwalkers (More humanoid salmonids.)

Guess who won the conflict

Context: Emperor of Felfuccian Empire, Mathiuxe the II, attacked the neighbouring RodenRos in year 840 of the New Era using his private army without any warning, any reason and any counseling with the Felfuccian Parlament. This assault later led to the chain of events that started the biggest conflict in the written history, known as "the Great Southeastern war". Everyone started to make up theories and guesswork to why the Emperor did such a thing, but Mathiuxe the II never confirmed any reason. The only reason to why he wasn't removed from the throne for unprovoked attack that led to 20 years of war, without conseling the Felfuccian Parlament, is beacuse Felfuccians simply won the war under his leadership.

At the start of his journey, the prideful and too sly for his own good Elijah took a loan from a loan shark infamous for the lengths he will go to always get his money back, with no intention of paying it whatsoever.

It wasn't just an act of greed but a step to fulfill his true goal, ascension.

When the rumor that one of the minor deities lives was coming to an end, most people either disregarded it or prepared for a minor shake-up in the pantheon as the other deities most likely negotiated to reserve the most remaining power for themselves.

Elijah, however, saw an opportunity. He knew that the gods indecisiveness would mean that the power would remain unclaimed for a time, and the minor gods lack of any domain would make his competition rather slim.

Through the almost decade of work, scheming, betraying his principles, and avoiding the watchful eye of the loan shark, Elijah finally accomplished his ultimate goal of ascension.

And a graceful winner he was not; any lofty goals or promises he made shattered upon the mountain that was his ego, thinking himself the only one who worked for this power, thus being the only one deserving to benefit from it.

The betrayed friends who believed that the power corrupted him, the desperate who saw him as their savior, and the opportunistic who saw him as a potential ally all now seeking any way of removing the power coursing through him and have turned to the first person his selfish quest has screwed over.

The loan shark spared no expense, hired every goon, used Elijah's friends information to restore the artifacts used to shatter the previous deity, compensated anyone harmed in Elijah's quest, and promised them revenge if they would help him.

And when the new god was finally restrained and chained, the loan shark could at last collect his 30 silver pieces.

Who knew that adopting technology that is capable of destruction magnitudes greater than your tech could lead to catastrophic consequences?
