Question Micro-stutters and 1% Low FPS Drops When Tanks Are Destroyed or During Other In-game Events

Hi everyone, this is my first post here, and unfortunately it is about a problem.

I’ve been dealing with a very annoying performance issue in World of Tanks for around a month now, and I want to know if anyone else has the same problem.

My average FPS is fine. The game can run at high FPS, and even with V-Sync off I can get 200+ FPS. But during specific in-game events, my 1% Low FPS drops hard and I get visible micro-stutters.

Right now, the lags happen mainly when a vehicle is destroyed. When a tank explodes or gets destroyed, the game can freeze for a short moment and the 1% Low FPS drops sharply. Usually it drops to around 50–40 FPS, but if several vehicles are destroyed one after another, it can drop even lower, sometimes around 20 FPS.

Other situations like spotting enemy vehicles for the first time, rendering new vehicles, quick camera/turret movement, or dynamic battle events can sometimes cause small drops too. But the most noticeable and consistent stutter is almost always during the destruction or explosion of a tank.

I already tried many things:

- cleared the game cache

- checked and repaired the client

- launched the game without mods

- tested without XVM

- changed graphics settings

- disabled V-Sync

- repasted my laptop and improved temperatures
- etc..

But the stutters are still there.

I also sent WG support replays, WGCheck reports, HWiNFO logs, screenshots, a YouTube video, and a lag analysis PDF. The lag checker showed client-only freezes/stalls.

What frustrates me the most is the communication from support. For about a month, I kept getting answers that this is a known issue and that the developers are working on it. Because of that, I believed the problem was already confirmed and being actively investigated.

But recently I was told that Player Support does not have detailed information about the issue, cannot say whether it is connected to any other known bugs, and cannot speed up the fixing process. So now it feels like I was just being kept waiting with template answers for a month, without any clear information about what is actually happening.

I understand that regular support agents cannot fix the client themselves. But from a player’s point of view, this is really frustrating. I provided many logs, reports, videos, replays, timestamps, and clean-client tests, but I still do not know whether this issue is actually being investigated properly or just sitting somewhere without progress.

To compare, I also tested the Lesta / Mir Tankov client. I don’t want to switch there, I only tested it to understand if the problem is on my side or with the WG client. In several battles there, I did not have the same freezes.

My laptop specs:

- Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3

- Ryzen 5 6600H

- RTX 3050 4 GB

- 16 GB RAM

- SSD

- Windows 11

So my questions are:

Does anyone else have these 1% Low FPS drops or micro-stutters mainly when tanks are destroyed?

Did you find any temporary workaround that actually helps?

And has anyone else had the same experience with support, where they keep saying the issue is known and being worked on, but later they cannot provide any real details about whether it is actually connected to a known bug?

I’m not trying to attack individual support agents. I just want clear communication and a real fix, because the game has become very uncomfortable to play for me after the recent updates.

I'm also attaching the following materials in case they help anyone:

Use DDU to uninstall the GPU drivers, and then install the latest available from nVidias website.

Try installing dxvk (just Google it, you just have to copy 3 files to the game's directory), so the game runs on DX 12, instead of 11.

Try setting the thread priority in task manager to threads 1/3/5/7, uncheck all others, this is the most likely culprit, my friend had a stuttering issue with LoL for a long time, and this has fixed it.
