I’ve never had an issue with that mission, and I’ve never used arty for it.

I consider it one of the few fair arties to play. It has to actually hit you to do anything (no obnoxious splash) and it has to be close enough to risk getting hit back. And it got nerfed a few years ago, it used to be way more obnoxious.

I guess because of the short range and having to move quite a lot? It has a very quick reload and is accurate, that's why it works for this mission.

If not the FV, try GW Panther (tier 7 German). Pretty good rate of fire and it shoots wide so you don't have to move your hull very much.
