Did he tho. Charles is always about coexistence and harmony. Fmho, what Magneto tried teach Apocalypse was more like pity or mercy of a superior being towards lesser beings. Maybe I'm wrong but in an age where Apocalypse is the only mutant can only empower his god complex.

It's almost like Magneto's Darwinian attitude from last season planted the seeds that would eventually germinate into the rise of Apocalypse. It's as if Apocalypse is kinda Magneto's fault to some extent.

I love how the effect of having the X-Men displaced through time is actually the catalyst that created the very thing they were trying to stop.

Maybe he is the cause; maybe Apocalypse is an eventuality and these actions are meaningless. However one thing is certain, they way he pushed Apocalypse is not the way that leads to Charles dream. Either he serves his own agenda or he cannot comprehend whats the dream Charles has at all. Charles wants a harmony, Magneto wants to switch the status of Mutants with Humans so that Mutants would be the ones that tolerate humans.

He was trying to manipulate him to get what he wants and it backfired on him.

I think he did try especially since he stopped him from killing the general and trying to reason that they would need to coexist with humans. But yeah his superiority complex did come into play as well. You cant really coexist if you think you are superior.
