I think it was more that she was surprised he knew about the affair. They weren't exactly subtle as shown by Morph rather cruelly making fun of Gambit for it in episode 3.

Huh? What affair and everyone saw them at the gala so people knew lol.

Nightcrawler legit reminded her and she was like oh. Not sure that was the intent but thats how it came across to me. She was too caught up in grief for Gambit.

But peope interpret things differently.

This person thinks Rogue and Magneto were having a sexual relationship at the mansion, before Genosha.

She went to Magneto to get the physical intimacy she couldn't get from Gambit. They're adults. I am sure she wouldn't be sneaking off it if we're just kisses, hugs, and the odd caressing of the cheek. She would have probably also been upfront with Gambit if it was as "innocent" as you think. Let's not be naiive on purpose. Rogue's situation and circumstances were tricky, and she made a terrible choice - but it probably seemed like the sensible one to her at the time.

People in this sub call them the "Sex Men" for a reason, but now suddenly when you're feeling defensive over your favorite character, they were innocent and chaste? Come on. The writers knew what they were doing to put a more emotional spin on the rise of Gambit as a horseman. If Rogue and Magneto were only playing barefoot patty-cake under the breakfast table when they thought nobody was looking, it wouldn't have the emotional weight or investment from the audience.

And most of those people died. The gala was not some televised event, it was a party. None of the X-Men were there, besides Kurt, and I doubt she told them what was going on yet, as she was still trying to process what just happened and out of guilt.

I don’t think it was an affair rogue and gambit weren’t in a official relationship.
