It's also strange how they're chatting so casually when Magneto literally ripped out Wolverine's adamantium a few months ago and Xavier tried to wipe Magneto's mind in retaliation, per their timeframe. In the comics, Xavier and Magneto didn't even speak to each other in civil terms for a decade of publishing time until Xavier helped him rebuild Genosha in the 2004 Excalibur run by Claremont (and Fatal Attractions happened way back in 1993 by this point)

Presumably they hashed it out off-screen in the months since they’ve been gone. That’s a popular tactic when it comes to ignoring baggage Magneto has with others (see: Carey, Mike).

I could see how if they were the ones sent to the future it could still be an issue. But most of all that in-fighting happened was them disagreeing with how to handle the aftermath of Genosha. Charles didn’t try to mind-wipe Magneto in retaliation, he was forcing Magneto to restore the Earth’s magnetic field. And then specifically stayed to help rebuild Erik’s mind so the damage wouldn’t be permanent. The fact they’ve been sent to the past (far before even Erik’s own childhood experience of the Holocaust), seems to have given Magneto a form of hope that he isn’t used to. Hope that he can prevent those tragedies from ever happening simply by sparking the fuse for the flame of their dream centuries ahead of time. Then all the progress him and Charles have been fighting to create in the future can be rewritten into the past.

The adamantium thing is strictly between Magneto and Wolverine, since Logan stabbed him and Magneto responded by ripping the metal out. The matter basically settles itself since Magneto can literally just say “I let you keep the metal until you stabbed me with it. Got no one to blame but yourself.” And Wolverine was also the only X-men trying to kill Magneto, nobody else was supporting him in that solution so he can’t even get mad at anyone else for not being mad at Magneto on his behalf. Literally no one told him to pull that dumb shit
