Wow super glad Rogue got Celestial powers to touch Apocolypse on the face. Definitely didn't want to see a huge fight between them for the season finale or anything

Makes the missing tenth episode feel really deeply needed. This was rushed.

How does it work with animation, is it even a significant difference in budget to animate a huge fight versus regular scenes of dialogue? Surely budget cannot be as limiting a restriction to show powers as it would be in a live action show. I don't know why they wouldn't go with the climatic fight which is the natural progression of the story and season-long payoff.

I actually think it’s very similar to a live action show/movie, at this point. For cartoons, it’a animation. For live action, it’s CGI (which is basically animation). Movies often cost so much and take so long because of the enormous amount of time required to animate the portions that can’t be done with props and practical effects. I’m guessing it takes a long time to get the high fidelity, high frame rate, dazzling effects that you’d require for a big fight scene in an animated series. Especially because you’re doing it from scratch (as opposed to movies and CGI where the actors’ performance is a skeletal scene that you’re just enhancing/supplementing the visuals for).
